Ascot , Master Summoner of Cephiro
By sending monster after monster against the Magic Knights, Umi got fed up with Ascot 's attitude and slapped him a good one. As a result, Umi gained Ascot 's respect for teaching him a valuable lesson. As the knights continue, Ascot finds that he likes Umi, but Umi has little clue what-so-ever.
Guru Clef, Master Mage of Cephiro
Despite Umi and Clef's attitude problems with each other in the beginning of the series, Umi found herself liking the little man and ended up chasing after him. Clef, on the other hand is reluctant and doesn't wish to get involve with Umi.
The character Umi in the anime has up-pointed eyes. Actually that reflects her characteristics really well. (Being selfish, arrogant, and it doesn't help that she has a high squeaky voice which is highly annoying.
CLEF
As in the manga, Umi didn't get along that well with Clef when they first met. And Clef was still the same height and age as it was in the manga. His position was also as the great Guru of Cephiro.
Unlike the manga, it turned out that Umi was in love with Clef. She almost admitted it after the last battle, but she realized, I guess, that Clef thanked him only because she did help Cephiro and nothing else. Personally, I think that is sick. Clef was at least 700 years older than Umi. Even if he did look young (and short), it's still sick. Have any of you read The Crucible ? It's worth mentioning because the real John Proctor was over 60 while Abigail Williams was about 12. Compare that to Clef and Umi.
ASCOT
I feel sorry for Ascott. He had fallen in love with the wrong girl. Like it's sick between Umi and Clef due to a huge gap of age, it's sick for Ascott to actually fall in love with Umi because---duh---he's just a little kid for Pete's sake! OK, sure, so he did something to look grown up and ended up much taller than Umi, but he's still a kid! He still had the heart of a kid and I am telling you he was still a CHILD (can I stress that out more??). Come to think of it, Umi-Clef relationship might be better than Umi-Ascott because, hey, at least Clef is the older one (it's a relationship stereotype thing that man has to be the older one).
I feel sorry for Ascott still because... think of it: he had lost his childhood for his unrequited love. This is one reason I hate anime: anime tends to support such impractical love! Just because you love someone doesn't mean you have to die for that person! ( Romeo and Juliet !) Well, in this case Ascott didn't really kill himself, but he did give up his childhood and it's still sad...
MOKONA
The anime holds Umi-Mokona relationship true to the manga version: She teased him (it?) a lot. I don't know about you, but I don't think trying to eat someone is in no way can be considered as a kind of joke, though... Don't try this to anyone you know or you might be sued or eaten for real for defensive reason if you happen to know a cannibal (please do NOT get offended).

Zazu is currently looking for a girlfriend. When Hikaru was 'captured' in NSX, Zazu was very 'interested' with her.
The character Hikaru in the anime is drawn a little bit differently than the manga, and that kinda changes something. Hikaru lost her charm. I love Hikaru-in-the-manga's hairstyle. It's unique and makes her pretty. Her anime-hair was messy and it really made her look like a boy (and ugly).
NOVA
Anyway, in season 2, Hikaru had a shadow reflected from her bad feelings. I mean, she felt really guilty and couldn't forgive herself for killing Princess Emeraude, and those feelings came out as a shadow in Cephiro and turned into Nova. (Sorta like Dragon Ball huh? Kame's evil feelings turned into Piccolo.)
Hikaru, Umi, and Fuu thought Nova looks just like Hikaru, except for her hair is more pinkish and she didn't braid it, but I don't think so. At first Nova appeared only in Hikaru's dreams (or nightmares), but one day, her "stepmother" Debonair allowed her to meet Hikaru for real and "play" with her. I said Debonair is Nova's stepmother because her mother is really Hikaru. At the end Nova disappeared because Hikaru was over her guilty feelings already. And since Nova the opposite of the real Hikaru, whatever Hikaru loves, she hates. Whatever Hikaru hates, she loves. Nova loved Hikaru so much because Hikaru really hated herself.
Oh yeah, at first, Nova was really strong that with her Rune-God (mashin) Regalia she could break Hikaru's sword. She couldn't be defeated because Hikaru's guilts were really strong.
EAGLE
Hikaru was captured by Eagle from Autozam. There he met Geo and Zazu before Nova met her for the first time while Lantis was trying to save her from Autozam. Eagle's FTO defeated Rayearth and Hikaru fainted. When she was conscious, she was dressed in Autozam's clothes (which is pretty cute) made by Zazu. Zazu seemed to like her really much, although her name sounded weird to his ear. :).
So, while captured, Hikaru had a talk with Eagle. He was so nice to her, that even if they were supposed to be enemies, Hikaru couldn't hate him so, although I don't think she didn't like him "that" way either unlike the manga. I guess Hikaru must be very depressed when Eagle died at the end (yeah... sad, huh?).
As in the manga, both Hikaru and Eagle were qualified to be the "pillar." The way they choose the "pillar" was different however. there' this "crown room", where left was Emeraude's crown. That crown would transform to fit in the owner. Oh, by the way, no one could enter that room unless with the magic "keys". This is what surprise Lantis so. Both Eagle and Hikaru ran into the room and both came out alive. The rule is: No one can come out of the room alive except for the pillar. Therefore, they started to realize that one of these two could be the pillar.
Hikaru and Eagle pretty much didn't fight for the ownership of the crown. They were really friendly, because each realized that the other was Lantis's friend, and they both loved Lantis so that they didn't want the other to get hurt because that would make Lantis sad. (How sweet.:))
LANTIS
Now, in the anime, the season 2 pretty much focused on Hikaru's "love", and not how they could "fix" Cephiro. They actually made Hikaru confess her love to Lantis, although when she said it she was half-conscious and didn't realize it later on.
Near the end Nova wounded Lantis and captured him, and put him to sleep while inside Regalia. Eagle, while fighting, encouraged Hikaru to scream his name because she's the only one who could wake him up. Hikaru, teary-eyed, did it, and awoke was Lantis. Though, he needed to wait for the right time before escaping.
I think it really sucks how the love story ended. Hikaru, now consciously, admitted, "I love you" to Lantis, and he said, "I love you" back, but that's it. The three girls returned to their world, and it's a year later before they came back. Hikaru said she wanted to go back to Cephiro one more time... heck, one more time? I think she's forgetting about someone here! After all those bloodish events. (This is why I like the manga-ending better. The 3 girls could come as many times as they want, so they could meet their "special friends" anytime they wanted to.
MOKONA
Well, it turned out the one who's calling the girls back to Cephiro were themselves, not Mokona. It was concluded that Mokona was a useless little animal after all. Actually when I was reading the manga I wondered how Mokona's voice would come out like if he talks for real in the anime too. I guess that's kinda why they did the part differently. :).

Suddenly appearing as a Woodsman in the Forest of Silence, Ferio found Fuu to be quite a cute girl (Manga) , by saving Ferio from the Magical Stone in the Forest of Silence, Fuu caught Ferio's heart (Anime). The two ever since has been inseparable; their love for each other knows no bounds.

Personality: Mature despite his appearance, Extremely calm, Well knowledged, Short tempered (Guru Clef has but one weakness. He has little patients for the totally ignorant types. If he is busy teaching and someone is totally ignoring him, he'll get angry)
Power/Ability: The most powerful magician in all Cephiro (Being the most powerful man in Cephiro, Guru Clef can perform all kinds of magic. Pet summoning, Shields, devastating attacks. He has the ability to communicate through Mokona as a means to help the Magic Knights)
Likes: Peace & quiet, Hikaru, Walk in the forest (Peace and quiet is the thing which Guru Clef likes the most. He prefers to spend his time walking through a forest and talking to his sacred animals when ever possible. Clef also has a small liking to Hikaru since she was the first to show real enthusiasm towards being a Magic Knight)

Personality: Take charge, slightly (very slightly) demented, crazy imagination (Presea is extremely strong for a person of her status. She was chosen by Clef to be the creator of the Escudo weapons for the Magic Knights. There is one personality fault of Presea which leaves much to be thought through before encountering her. She has an overpowerful imagination and a huge sense of torture)
Power/Ability: The greatest weapon/equipment maker in all of Cephiro, only one who can form weapons from Escudo (Through her shear will (and a few silk fabrics here and there), Presea can mold weapons from any kind of mineral she's given)
Likes: Clean & tidy room, tortures, Bui-Teck (food found in Cephiro) (One thing Presea prides herself on is having the grandest and neatest library in all of Cephiro. She doesn't appreciate anyone waltzing into the study and completely mess it up. If so, then she'll trap you and think of ways to torture you as suitable punishment for messing her things)
Dislikes: Messy room, Mokona (Her study is her pride, and Mokona is her menace. He constantly pops into the room and throws her notes all over the place whenever possible. Try as she might, Presea can never seem to trap Mokona to punish him)
Note: In the first season of Magic Knight Rayearth, Presea was killed with one of Ascot 's monsters trashed her place. However, when Emeraude died, her final prayer for all Cephiro was to bring back everyone who died in the war, and so Presea returned in the next season.

Occupation: (Slightly annoying) Pet, All the necessities on a voyage (Mokona has been a pet of Guru Clef for a long time. Soon during Zagato's uprising, Guru Clef placed Mokona into Presea's care with the intructions to give him to the Magic Knights when they arrive)
Personality: Playful, Care free, Childish even naughty at times (One feature of Mokona which will stay forever is his extreme cheerfulness. Only in situations of dire sadness does Mokona shows some form of pity. Even confronted with a monster, Mokona usually acts completely normal. At times, Mokona's playful attitude can sometimes also become naughty, like when he messes with Presea's study)
Power/Ability: Has the ability to make things appear out of no where from the jewel on his forehead, Full of energy, Ability to bounce a fair distance (Mokona is a valuable resourse. Anything you wish, he will make appear with but a "Puu!" and a flash from the jewel on his forehead. His mode of transportation is mainly hopping all over the place or flapping his ears and fly. Watching him go is one thing, trying to keep up with him is another. The only person who could keep up with Mokona's bouncy movement is Hikaru)
Likes: Annoying certain people, Hikaru, Flowers, Adventure (Mokona is always cheerful to seek adventure whenever it calls. Though he also likes stopping once in a while to smell the flowers. Almost child-like, Mokona also has an annoying tendency to annoy people by doing something which they hate. Mokona loves being around Hikaru. Occupation: Swordsman, Woodsman, Circus performer, Prince (When Ferio first appeared, he possess himself as a woodsman trying to find a way out of the Forest of Silence . (In the Anime) Ferio claimed that he was a circus performer in the past, and Princess Emeraude saved him from being imprisoned. Later in the series, Ferio finally remembers his true past, he is Princess Emeraude's brother, which classifies him as the Prince of Cephiro)
Personality: Trustworthy at times, Secretive, Caring (Ferio has the annoying habit of telling half truths. When he first met the knights, he told them several stories trying to confuse them. Personally, Ferio has little knowledge of his past, so he makes things up to hide his past. Ferio is also extremely caring when it comes to Fuu. He'll do anything to save her)
Power/Ability: Swordsman, Luck (Ferio prides himself on his skills with a sword. He's extremely skilled and strong because he can swing his huge sword with but one hand)
Likes: Naps, Food, Fuu, Emeraude (Ferio has but three things he likes. He likes to nap a lot and whenever possible. When he was trapped in the Forest of Silence , Ferio trades the knights for his protection with food, since he couldn't find any food in the Forest of Silence . After Ferio met Fuu, he found her to be quite cute, and he eventually fell in love with her. Being Emeraude's brother, Ferio cares for her when he was young. The burden of caring for a brother was too great for Emeraude, so Ferio had her erase his memories of her and his past)

Occupation: Disciple of Guru Clef (Before the time of Zagato's uprising, Lantis studied as an assistance under Guru Clef)
Personality: Silent type (Lantis is a very quiet person, no one can really tell what he's thinking. His face rarely shows any sign of emotion, being a great poker face)
Power/Ability: Swordsman, Magician (Having been a student of Guru Clef, Lantis possesses a sword of light/energy. He's incredibly skilled with the sword)
Likes: Naps, Hikaru (Lantis mostly keeps to himself, so he prefers to nap often. When Lantis first met Hikaru, Hikaru was ashamed to meet the person who's brother she killed. But to her surprise, Lantis ended up liking Hikaru and became her guardian in Cephiro, even though the two never really showed any signs of liking each other)
Dislikes: Sweet things (Which is rather strange considering he likes Hikaru. She's sweet! ^-^)
Note: Before Zagato's uprising, Lantis left Cephiro towards the land of the Autozams. No one knows the true purpose of Lantis' disappearance, then suddenly reappearing, but he never tells anyone cause of his silent nature.

Personality: Obnoxious, Extremely jealous (Premira prides herself as being Lantis' Personal fairy. If anyone tries to come between her and Lantis, she'll take it extremely personally and will find a way to put a stop to it)
Power/Ability: Healing (Primera having strong feelings for Lantis, uses her healing power on him whenever he gets wounded. Though she never uses it on anyone else)
Likes: Lantis, plugs & gears (Food of Cephiro) (Having been saved by Lantis from a monster, Primera has loved Lantis ever since. Always being with him no matter where he goes)
Dislikes: Anyone who messes between her and Lantis, Hikaru (Being so strongly tied to Lantis, Primera takes instant offense to anyone who dares come between her and Lantis. Hikaru being one, who caught Lantis' heart, Primera instantly showed a meanest to Hikaru)

Personality: Child-like, understanding (Despite Ascot's childish appearance, deep down, Ascot is a really kind & caring person. He considers monsters to be his closest friends, since no one understands them as much as he does. Ascot shows many great traits, such as understanding, when Umi finally met Ascot face to face, her conversation with him struck him deep inside. His devotion to Caldina and friendship to his monsters are grand)
Power/Ability: Summons monsters to attack, floating around on a rock (Unfortunately, Ascot is the weakest when it comes to hand to hand combat. However, his friends, the monsters are not as weak and he can summon them to fight for him. As a means of transportation, Ascot uses a floating rock to move about in Cephiro, since his child-like body cannot possibly keep up with the adult's steps)
Likes: Umi, Caldina, Monsters (Caldina, being Ascot 's nurse maid, holds Ascot with the greatest of care. Ascot has no real human friend, so he turns to his monster friends to play with. Ascot fell for Umi the moment she showed him kindness and consideration towards his friends the monsters)
Dislikes: Hates people who hurt his friends (Anyone who messes with his monster friends will feel Ascot 's wrath. Ascot is extremely sensitive whenever someone hurts his friends. He'll seek vengeance after vengeance until he gets it)

Occupation: Illusionist (One of Caldina's special abilities is the ability of illusion. Making things that aren't real look and feel real)
Personality: Money grubbing, motherly (Caldina has but one weakness. She's a sucker for a whooping bag of money. Caldina uses her illusionary abilities to gain money where ever possible. Aside from her money grubbing attitude, Caldina is also an extremely caring person. She's nurse maid to Ascot since Ascot acts like a child. She'll do anything to help Ascot if he's in trouble)
Power/Ability: Illusions, hypnosis and tricks to attack (Caldina's illusionary abilities aren't just limited to imagery. If the person sees her illusions, there's the possibility that the illusion will hurt the person, cause there's the illusion of getting hurt. Any other injuries such as crushing by a rock or instant death illusions don't hurt anyone, it just scares them. Another of Caldina's abilities is to hypnotise people. With it, she uses it to turn enemies against each other, leaving her alone and unhurt)
Likes: Lafarga, Money, Ascot (Since the beginning of the series, Caldina has been the sole nanny to Ascot . She'll do all in her power to make sure Ascot is happy. Caldina has one weakness which is her love for money. If there's money to be gotten, she'll disregard everything else to get it. Caldina's love for Lafarga doesn't bloom until the second season when they faced the nations surrounding Cephiro)
Dislikes: Hates anyone who hurts Ascot (Caldina is not really a person who hates anyone. She follows orders from Zagato and takes care of Ascot , but if anyone hurts Ascot , Caldina will strike her revenge severely)
Note: Caldina joined Zagato only for money. If Zagato had not offered Caldina a huge reward or offering, she wouldn't be fighting for him. However, she still holds her life higher than money, so when she failed to kill the Magic Knights, Caldina befriended them and left Zagato and went into hiding with Ascot .

Occupation: Swordsman, Captain of the Royal Guards of Princess Emeraude (Before Zagato took over, Lafarga was captain of the Royal Guards. His duty is to protect Princess Emeraude with his last breath. He is a formidable swordsman)
Personality: Loyal, rather non-emotional, Stubborn & Suspicious towards anything that will endanger Cephiro (Lafarga's loyalty towards the Pillar of Cephiro is without fault. When Princess Emeraude was being taken away by Zagato, Lafarga fought with the last of his strength. Lafarga's personality can be classified as military. As captain of the royal guard, Lafarga has to maintain a strict, firm personality)
Power/Ability: Skilled with the Sword, extremely strong (Lafarga's skill with the sword is unmatched. With just a swing of his sword, he can fall foes with just the power of the air pressure built from the swing. Lafarga's other ability is his strength and endurance. When Princess Emeraude was being captured by Zagato, he fought Zagato with his last strength. Fortunately Zagato found Lafarga's skill very strong and cast a spell over him instead of killing him)
Likes: Caldina (Within the second season, Lafarga and Caldina eventually got together)
Dislikes: Disloyal citizens (Lafarga has a dislike towards disloyal citizen. When Lantis first returned to Cephiro, Lafarga took a dislike towards him, not trusting Lantis at all, even though he was helping with the evacuation of Cephiro)

Occupation: Princess/Pillar of Cephiro (From the beginning of the series, Princess Emeraude has been Cephiro's pillar. She's the sole guardian over the entire land)
Personality: Soft, Gentle, Caring (Emeraude's child-like exterior shows exactly what her personality is within. A gentle, sweet, caring child)
Power/Ability: Prayers, Strong willed (Princess Emeraude is the one power that cannot be denied. Her prayers and her will are the most powerful in all of Cephiro. With it, she can protect anyone, anywhere)
Likes: Zagato, Cephiro, Ferio (As pillar of Cephiro, Emeraude has her duty to protect Cephiro. All else would be denied to her. She is not allowed to associate with anyone else. She could not love Zagato, neither could she love her brother, Ferio. As a result of this, Ferio requested that his memories be erased and so the burden of having a brother would not fall too heavily on her. From the time Emeraude met Zagato, her undeniable love slowly grew until she could no longer concentrate on Cephiro, which caused the calamity of Cephiro's collapse)
Dislikes: Nothing / Magic Knights (As pillar of Cephiro, Emeraude shows little or no other feelings but happiness to everyone. She can never be truly angry until the death of Zagato, whom was killed by the hands of the Magic Knights. As a result, she turned into a woman filled with hatred and anger)

Occupation: Head Priest of Cephiro (As second most powerful in all Cephiro, Zagato takes the role of the High Priest)
Personality: Dark, Quiet (Zagato has little personality apart from his cold stern exterior. He's very quiet and doesn't like people who only thinks of themselves)
Power/Ability: Any form of Magic (Being the second most powerful, Zagato has nearly as much power as Emeraude does. Only Emeraude and maybe Guru Clef can stand against him in magical battle)
Likes: Emeraude (Zagato in the beginning, found himself being touched in the heart by Emeraude. As a result, he kidnaps Emeraude in an attempt to free her of the burden of being the pillar and can love him back in return)
Dislikes: Anyone who hurts Emeraude (Personally, Zagato doesn't care for anything, even Cephiro, all he cares about is loving Emeraude and having her love him back, but that's not possible for the pillar of Cephiro)
