Silk Dreams-Thought you were different

SILK DREAMS

I THOUGHT YOU WERE DIFFERENT

Things are not always,
How they really seem,
I thought I knew what was real,
But find it was all a dream.

People come and go,
Like quiet summer rain,
Some leaving happiness,
Some leaving pain.

I thought you were different,
Really thought you cared,
How could I be so foolish,
How could I have dared,
To think I really knew you,
But was a fool you see,
I mistook what I thought was there,
For what I thought could be.
I see clearly now,
It is so plain to see,
You were just having fun,
And the cost was a part of me.
