I am very intrigued by Hummingbirds.
How do they fly?
Experts say they can not, but we know they do.
I have spent many hours enjoying the playful antics
of the Hummers that visit my feeders each summer.

Want to make your own feeder solution? Here's how

Use one part ordinary white cane sugar to four parts water.

Boiling the water for 3 to 4 minutes before measuring
can retard spoilage in the feeder by a day or two;
Stir in the sugar while the water's still hot.
Let cool before filling the feeder.

Store unused syrup in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
This mixture approximates the average
sucrose content (about 21%) of the flowers
favored by North American hummingbirds.

As we know, the Hummers are attracted to the flowers.
I have found some of their favorites to be the Trumpet
Vine, Impatience and even on occasion, the Azalea.

Thank you for stopping by.
