| NEVER SAY TOMORROW Nikolas was in shock. He was in a church attending the funeral of the girl he loved. Why did I never just tell I loved her he thought. He alwas thought there would be tomorrow. Nikolas alwas put off telling Gia how he felt about her. He loved her so much, but was too scared to tell her. He did not want to take the chance of being hurt by another woman again. Deep down inside, he knew Gia loved him, but his fears overcame him, and kept him from revealing his true feelings. But now it was too late. He thought that he had forever... But now forever is gone away Nikolas thought. He could see Gia's mother and brother siting in the front row crying silently. The night Gia died, Gia's mother had blamed Nikolas for her daughter's death. Nikolas felt she was correct in her accusations. It was all my fault. Nikolas' thoughts went back to the night he had lost Gia forever... ~~~~~~~ Nikolas and Gia had been sitting down in Kelly's minding their own business, discussing the FOD. Gia was voicing her opinions to Nikolas about the whole situation, and Liz happened to be listening to their conversation. Everything went downhill from this point... Gia: How is it that your mother can allow me ot go through this whole shoot like she is really giving me a fair chance when everyone knows she wants Liz? Nik: My mother is a very fair and honest woman. Her final decision wil be based on the outcome of the shoots, not on her personal favorite. Gia: Please Nikolas! Open your eyes! Your mother is going to pick Lizard even if my pictures come out better! Nik: (His voice rising angrily) So are you saying my mother is unfair and dishonest? Gia: No, don't put words in my mouth Nikolas. I just don't think she is very good at being impartial. She is playing favorites. Elizabeth now decides to come over and help defend Nikolas' mother to Gia... Liz: Gia, why don't you shut up and stop whining? Do you always think about yourself! Nikolas has been through enough in the past couple of months without you putting down his mother. Gia: Look Lizard, I do not recall anyone inviting you to join the conversation! I was not even putting down his mother, I just feel she is being a little unfair! Liz: Laura is a very fair woman. She knows how to separate personal feelings from her professional life. Gia: Of course you would say that, Laura wants you as the FOD! Nik: Gia that's enough! I am getting tired of you and your attitude. You are always starting fights with my friends, and I don't appreciate it! Gia: Excuse me, but I didn't even start this fight. Lil' Miss Lizard decided to put herself in a private conversation! Nik: Well she wouldn't have came over here if you hadn't copped a damn attitude! You only think of yourself Gia! Why are you so damn selfish all the time? Gia: (On the verge of tears) I can't believe you wuld say that. I was there for you the night you found out your uncle faked his death, and this is how you thank me? I was not selfish when I was helping you cope that day! I was the one who told you to go see your uncle to straighten things out because I knew you loved him. Where were all your loyal friends then? Liz: Gia you are such a b*&@!. Obviously we don't want you here! Comforting Nikolas was probably part of your act so you could keep mooching off of him. You are so manipulative, and I can't believe Nikolas ever wanted to help you! Gia: I do not have to take this crap from you! I do not deserve this. I know I was wrong for blackmailing Emily, but I have apologized for it. What else do you want me to do? Liz: Leave! Gia: Fine! After tonite, none of you will ever have to worry about me again! I am leaving this damn town! Gia ran out of Kelly's crying, and she never watched where she was going. She came to a street, and was so lost in her hurt that she didn't pay attention to the traffic. She ran across the street, and she never saw the car coming straight at her... ~~~~~~~ Nikolas winced at the painful memory. Why hadn't he just stuck up for Gia? That is not how you treat the girl you love. Nikolas remembered what happened next. He had left Kelly's and was driving home to apologize to Gia. He figured she was probably at the cottage packing right at that moment. He wanted to apologize and tell her how he really felt, and try to keep her from leaving. Then he noticed the police car and ambulance in the street up ahead. Then he saw Gia's mother in the middle of the street upset and yelling at the emergency technicians, and Taggert was holding on to her trying to calm her down. Then he saw the body on the stretcher...Not Gia he thought, Oh God please not Gia... Nikolas immediately jumped out of his car, and ran over to the ambulance. He saw Gia's lifeless body on the stretcher. He instantly felt as if someone had ripped his heart out. The girl he loved more than anything in the world was lying ther on the stretcher dead, all because he would not stick up for her and defend her to his friends. ~~~~~~~ Nikolas knew he would never forgive himself for that night. He would regret for the rest of his life not defending Gia to Liz, or telling her how he really felt about her. There would always be a hole in his heart where Gia should be. From that night on, Nikolas had vowed never to neglect the people he loved. He realized that he should make it a priority to tell those he cared about how he felt about them.
