| Be Mine Valentine's Day Morning...... Nikolas rolls over to the other side of his bed, moving out of the sun's rays, trying to savor his last few minutes of sleep. It's pointless though, once Nikolas wakes up he's up for the day. He glances over at his night stand, seeing a shoe box, decorated with pink and red construction paper, where his clock should be. Confused, he picks up the box and sees a note taped to the box. He smiles reading Gia's handwriting. Nikolas, Keep this box with you at all times today. Today, you're going to get a little bit of the Valentine's magic you missed growing up. P.S. In case this isn't all together obvious, you put what you find in the box. You may be a Prince, but you don't always get the obvious things. :-) Happy Valentine's Day, Gia Nikolas smiles, remembering the conversation he and Gia had a few nights ago. He asked her if she had any plans for Valentine's Day and that somehow led Gia to tell him about the Valentine's parties she would have at school when she was younger. She smiled remembering the bags of candy and Valentine's cards she would get. Nikolas enjoyed hearing about this, having never gotten anything like that when he was young, considering he was his whole class. The closest thing Nikolas ever got to a Valentine was the cupcakes one of the cooks would make for him once a year. Anxious to see what exactly Gia has up her sleeve, he hurries to take a shower and get downstairs. When Nikolas gets out of the shower, he sees a tiny envelope leaning up against his can of shaving cream. He rips open the envelope and takes out the tiny card that has Donald Duck giving a heart-shaped box of candy to Daisy Duck with the message that simply says "Be Mine". After sliding it through the slot on the top of the box, he finishes getting ready and bounds down the stairs, shoe box in hand. But much to Nikolas's dismay, Gia is nowhere to be found. Nikolas goes into the kitchen and another smile lights up his face. The coffee is almost finished brewing and French Toast was waiting for him on the table along with a tall glass of orange juice. There was even a single yellow rose in a small vase. Alongside the vase was another Valentine and a few chocolate kisses decorating the center of the table. He can't believe Gia was going through all this trouble for him. That she had taken the time to do all this, and the day wasn't even over. If this surprise breakfast, couple Valentines, and a few chocolate kisses were all he got, it's already been the best Valentine's Day he's ever had. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Carly and Sonny's penthouse...... Gia had come over early in the morning so she could be out of the cottage before Nikolas came downstairs. Not that she could stay long, because timing is everything today, she wanted to be sure Nikolas would continuously be surprised throughout the day. Gia has just finished telling Carly what she was doing. Carly(gushing): Oh, that's so sweet. And very romantic. Is this your little way of telling Nikolas that your ready to be more than friends? 'Cause I KNOW you are! Gia(trying not to blush): No! It's just no one's never really taken the time to do something special just for him. He's usually having to take care of everyone else and make other people feel special. Besides, with all this Cassadine crap he's had to deal with, I know this will make him happy. (hesitant) Do you think he'll take it as a sign that maybe we should explore our relationship further? Because that's not my intention. Carly(nodding): Uh-huh, really, Girl I totally believe you.(pause) Not! You want him and bad. This whole, "oh, I'm, just making him feel special" garbage isn't gonna pass with me. Stop trying to convince yourself that you don't have feelings for Nikolas. Come to think of it, WHY are you trying to convince yourself you don't have feelings for him? I mean, he's gorgeous, rich, funny, sweet, smart, so his family's totally nuts, except for Alexis she's okay most of the time. Oh, and did I mention he's a prince? A real life Prince Charming, Gia. Most girls would be falling all over themselves trying to be with him. You live with the guy, you've seen him at his worst moments, stuck by him with his family troubles, and not to mention all he's done for you. His choice in friends is questionable, but other than that, he's great. What am I missing here? Does he snore or something? Chew with his mouth open? Pick his nose? What? Gia(laughing): He does none of that stuff. It's just, if we ever did decide to take our relationship further, it would totally complicate our living arrangement. Plus my mother would freak, not to mention Granny and Uncle Fester. And who knows what Liz would say. Carly: Who cares what Liz would say? Oh, I see, Nikolas defends Liz all the time, totally shutting you out even if you happen to be right? Gia: Yes! Well, not so much anymore since I threatened to move out if he didn't defend me more often, but he use to do it all the time. She is his friend and her opinion along with Lucky and Emily's mean a lot to him. They wouldn't like it. Carly: So? Trust me, Nikolas totally feels the same way about you. Gia(trying not to smile): How do you know? Carly: I've seen the way he looks at you when you aren't looking. When you were doing the test shots the looks he was giving you were hot. Face it, you've both got the hots for each other and it's only a matter of time until you guys wake up and realize how great you would be together. Plus, it wouldn't shock as many people as you think. Everyone in Port Charles thinks you and Nikolas are already a couple, except for the two of you, of course. Gia(checking her watch): I gotta go. Timing is crucial today. See you at the office tomorrow. Bye. Carly: Bye, oh and Gia? Gia(turning): What? Carly: If you didn't feel so deeply for him, you wouldn't be rushing out the door right now to place little cards and candies all over town for him. If he was really just your friend, simply saying Happy Valentine's Day or maybe one card would suffice. Gia: When did you get all wise? Carly: Must be that health food Sonny's making me eat. Makin' me smarter. (chuckles) Call me later and give me details. Gia: Yeah, thanks. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Early evening, Cottage...... Nikolas walks into the cottage and immediately starts looking for Gia. Today was just simply wonderful. With the exception of a few funny looks from Ned for walking around with a pink and red shoe box, the day had been perfect. He kept finding little cards or candy all day long in the most unlikely places. Like taped to the steering wheel of the Jag, at L&B, a bag of candy in the glove box, cards amongst his notes for L&B, everywhere. Nothing could be in a spot, but then he'd come back 5 minutes later and a little something would be there. Nikolas is sure he must've had a stupid grin on his face all day long, but he didn't care. All he wanted to do was find Gia and thank her. No one's ever made him feel this special. Like he was all that mattered. The gifts he got Gia seemed pretty insignificant compared to the way she made him feel. Nikolas feels like the huge teddy bear she had seen in the window at the toy store and the huge bouquet of flowers, too many different kinds to name, weren't nearly good enough. While setting the bear in the chair by the desk, Nikolas sees yet another card taped to the phone. After he reads it and puts it in the box, he turns to go into the kitchen. To his surprise, Gia is standing right behind him, a shy smile on her face. Gia: Hi. Nik(smiles): You've been very busy today, haven't you? Gia(shrugs): Maybe just a little. Did you like it? Without a word, Nikolas embraces Gia in a tight hug. Gia didn't know what to do. He was holding her so close, she could feel his heart beat right through her. She pulls away slightly, so she can try to read his face, to see exactly what he's thinking, but Nikolas keeps his arms around her waist. Gia(softly): You didn't answer my question. Did you like it? Nik: Are you kidding? I loved it. I loved it all. No one has ever really gone out of their way to do something like this for me. Gia: Can't say that anymore, can you? Nik(chuckling): No, I guess not. How can I even begin to thank you? Gia(looking over his shoulder): Well, that bear and the flowers are a good start. (smiling) Nik: What makes you so sure those are for you? Gia: You got another roommate stashed away here I don't know about? Keeping one arm around her waist, Nikolas turns to the desk and picks up the flower bouquet, handing it to Gia. Gia: What'd you do, buy a Rose Bowl float? (smelling the flowers) They're beautiful, thank you. (looking at the many kinds) Wow, tulips, roses, orchids, gardenias, violets, lilies, plus some more I can't name. Go a little overboard, Prince? Nik: Not for you, Sparky. (smiles) This isn't half of what you deserve for the way you made me feel today. I could give you all the flowers in the world and it still would begin to be enough for me to repay you. Gia(coy): Well, diamonds are a girl's best friend. (laughing) All kidding aside, these flowers are more than enough. How do I make you feel, Nikolas? Nik(thinking for a moment): Happy, needed, special, wanted, loved...so many things. Many GOOD things. (stroking the side of her face with his finger) I love how you make me feel, Gia. Gia(leaning in closer): I love how you make me feel, too. They begin to lean closer to each other, both knowing what they want and now sure that the other feels the same way. Their lips barely touch when Gia pulls away suddenly. Nikolas was sure Gia wanted this, did he do something wrong? Nik: I'm sorry, Gia. I didn't mean to push you. I just thought... Gia(putting a finger to his lips): Chill, Prince. I want to kiss you, I'm just not going to crush my flowers to do it. Smiling, Nikolas quickly removes the flowers from Gia's arms and places them on the desk. He puts one hand on the small of her back and the other behind her head while her arms are wrapped around his waist. They kiss each other with all the pent up passion and emotion that had been building ever since their "kiss of comfort" a few weeks ago. After a few minutes, they pull away, breathless. Nik(leaning his forehead against Gia's): Happy Valentine's Day, Gia. Gia: Happy Valentine's Day, Nikolas. Samantha |
