| SUMMARY: Both Gia and Liz have been through their test shoots for the FOD. Right now, Liz and Lucky, and Nikolas and Gia are sitting in Laura's office awaiting her and Carly's decisoin for the new FOD. Gia: (Whispering to Nikolas) I am so nervous, I really want to be the new FOD. I could finally prove Little Miss Liz and my mother wrong. Nik: No need to be nervous, I know you did great at the test shoot, and I know my mother will be fair in her decison. (Nik thinking to himself) At leat I hope so. Nikolas knew how much getting this job would mean to Gia. She had been talking about the prospect of being the new FOD for the past couple of weeks nonstop. He knew that Gia was determined to get the job and prove to everyone (Liz, and Gia's mother in particular) that they were wrong about her not being able to get this job. Laura: I am very excited to be announcing the girl who will be the new FOD. First, I would like to thank Liz and Gia for all their hard work. Ok, Carly, would you like to announce who the new FOD is? Carly: (In a syrupy sweet voice) No thank you Laura, you go right ahead. Laura: Ok. ( To Liz and Gia) Well girls after much, much deliberation and negotiaton Carly and I have decided that the new FOD is ...Elizabeth Webber!!!!! Lucky: (Jumps up and hugs Liz) Alright baby! I knew you could do it. Nik: Yeah Elizabeth, Congratulations. Gia sat on the couch and watched the scene before her. I can't believe this she thought to herself. How could I have been so stupid to think that I could get this job? Gia: (Her voice starts to crack) Congratulations Elizabeth! I hope you are happy. And with that, Gia got up and ran out of Laura's office, out the building into the blistering cold. Nik: Gia! Gia! Wait a minute! Nikolas knew Gia was crushed, and he hated to see her so upset. He wanted to go find her and take her in his arms and comfort her. He owed it to her. Nik: I am going to go find Gia and make sure she's alright. Lucky: Ok man, I guess I'll see ya later. Nik walked hurriedly out of the building to find Gia. ~~~~~~~~~~~ (Gia thinking to herself) Gia, you are so stupid! you knew that Laura was set on having Liz as teh new FOD. Why did you put youself in the position to be let down? Gia was running without regard to where she was going, and she eventually found herself in the park. She stopped running and sat down on one of the swings, and she began to cry. She felt foolish for actually thinking that Laura would pick her over Liz. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Nikolas had been running around for the past 30 minutes trying ot find Gia. Where could she have gone? When she ran out of Laura's office, she had forgotten her purse with her keys, so she could not get into the cottage. Nik was running out of options, so he began to head towards the park to think. Why am I so concerned with Gia being upset anyway? I really shouldn't care how she feels, considering how she treated me and my friends when she first came to Port Charles. When he and Lucky set Gia up to catch her balckmailing Emily, he had hated her. But when he had looked into her eyes, he could see she wasn't as cold and tough as she pretended to be. He could see that she was an insecure, troubled girl, and he had began to warm up to her. He even let Gia come live with him in the cottage, and she stil has not paid rent yet. At first he had found Gia really annoying, but he eventually began to get used to her quirks- like how she always had some smart comment, or how she liked to leave her clothes all over teh house. He had begun to look forward to coming home and his house not being empty. Gia filled his house, which before had been so cold and empty, and now it was full of life. He knew he did not ever want Gia to go away. When he would come home from his job at L&B, he and Gia would talk for hours by the fireplace, and she woudld sometimes even get him to watch a movie. He felt like he could open up to Gia and tell her anything, and she did the same. Gia had become a great source of comfort for Nikolas, especially when his Uncle Stefan returned, and it was revealed that Stefan had faked his own death. Gia had been right there to comfor thim when he needed a friend the most. That night, Gia had taken him in her arms, and just held him while he cried himself to sleep. After that, Nikolas realized that he wanted Gia as much more than a friend...he had developed feelings for her. He wanted to find Gia and comfort her just like she had done for him. ~~~~~~~~~~ Nikolas was entering the park when he heard a girl crying. That must be Gai he thought. Sure enough, there was Gia sitting on the swing crying. God, she looks so beatiful, even when she was crying. She looked like an angel, sitting there with the moonlight shining on her face. It hurt Nik that Gia was in pain. He walked over to the swing next to Gia and sat down. Nik: (To Gia) You ok? Gia: Do I look okay! I really thought I had a shot at being the new FOD.I can't believe I was such an idiot. I actually believed that your mother might pick me. What is wrong with me? Am I too fat, too skinny, not beatiful enough? Nothing ever goes right for me! My mom is right, I am a failure. Nik: (Taking Gia's hands into his) Gia you know that is not rue. you are very intelligent, you have a lot of talent, not to mention you are beatiful. Gia: Through her sobs) You ...(sniff-sniff) think I'm beatiful? (Nikolas thinking to himself) Yes, you are so beatiful. Nikolas found himself getting lost in Gia's eyes. Then his gaze went down to her lips. God, he wanted to kiss her so bad. Nik: (Putting his hand to Gia's face, wiping away her tears) I think you are very beatiful. Maybe you did not get this job because there is an even better oen out ther waiting for you. You are special, and you have too much talent to give up now. Gia: Thanks Nikolas, I don't know what to say. I have never been drowned with so many compliments from a man at one time. (Gia begins to giggle) Does Nikolas care about me the way I care about him? Gia realzed the night Nikolas found out Stefan faked his death that she cared a lot for him. This was the first tiem she had ever seen Nikolas cry, and it hurt her that he was so upset. She was grateful for all the things he had done for her when she caem to Port Charles. Gia didn't know why Nikoals wanted to help her so much, considering what she had done to Emily. Gia felt she owed it to Nikolas that night to repay him for everything he'd done, so she had held him all night while he cried, and just tried to be a good friend. Gia shifted her gaze to Nikolas, and it sent shivers through her body. He is such a beatiful man, she thought. why can't I ever find someone like him? She knew that someone like Nikolas could never care for her. He was a rich Prince, and she was a troubled girl from Brooklyn. He could not possibly feel the same way for her as she felt for him. ~~~~~~~~~~ Nikolas had never felt this way about any other woman, not even Elizabeth. Even if Gia didn't shar ethe same feelings, he would feel much better after he told her how he felt. Nik: Gia? Gia: (Still staring at Nik) Yes? Nik: I have something I need to tell you. Then Nikolas pulled Gia up off the swing, and sat her on his lap. Gia, I care about you...a lot. That is why I ran after you because, it hurts me like hell to see you so upset. Ihave never felt this way about anyone. After that whole Katherine thing, I didn't think I could care for anyone again...and then you came along. You have helped me get through one of the most difficult time in my life (referring to Stefans "death"). Nik then began to cry. I want to thank you for being there for me, and I hope that you feel the same way about me. Gia: Oh Nikolas! You don't know how happy you have made me. I care about you too, but I never said anything because I was afraid you didn't feel the same way. Gia began to cry again, but this time it is from hapiness. Nikolas brings his hand to Gia's face, and starts to slowly caress her face. Then he starts to trace the outline of her lips with his finger. He wanted to kiss her so bad. Gia: (Still crying) Just kiss me you fool! Nikolas brings Gia closer to him and begins to kiss her slowly. Damn! This girl can kiss, he thought. As soon as he brought his lips to hers, he felt like somebody shot electricity through his whole body. Despite the cold weather, he was starting to get really hot. Gia felt like she could kiss Nikolas forever. Whoever thoght Prince Nikolas could kiss so well. She brung herself as close to Nikolas as possible, and she began to run her fingers through is hair. Gosh, its starting to feel like summer out here, she thought. ~~~~~~~~~~ Nik and Gia had been kissing for well over a minute when Liz and Lucky waked into the park and spotted Nik and Gia getting hot and heavy. Lucky: (Clearing his throat) Well...I see you found Gia! Nik and Gia broke away when they heard Lucky's voice. They were both blushing and breathing pretty hard. Nik: (With a goofy lookin grin on his face) Yeah, I found her, and I decided to make her feel better. Lucky: (Lucky laughing) Yeah, if that is what you call making someone feel better. Nik: I think she still looks a little sad, don't you think? Then Nikolas began to kiss Gia again. Lucky: I think me and Liz will leave you two alone now. Lucky and Liz left, and then Gia broke away from Nikolas. Gia: Thank you Nikolas, I don't know what I would have done without you tonight. Nik: (With a mishcevious look in his eyes) My pleasure! Le me know whenever you need some more comforting. Gia: (Bringing herself closer to Nik) Well...I think I still need some more comforting.
