I never got to say goodbye,
for in one moment you were gone,
but you are with me,
and the love remains strong.
I never got to truly thank you,
for the love you offered me,
teaching me the ways of love,
and how loving really should be.
I walk the path by my self now,
but part of you within my heart,
I know I am not alone,
for we will never truly part.
Sometimes I feel so lost,
thinking of what was or should of been,
the price so high we paid,
for someone else's sin.
I must go on with life,
and live with the pain,
my one consolation is
such loving memories remain.
They will bring me strength,
in the days ahead I face,
for you are with me,
and I am under God's loving grace.
