While visiting with Benson he related an interesting story to me. It seems that four years ago he was kidnapped by some shady characters. He was held captive for three months. What a harrowing experience he had. His caregiver, Teresa, was frantically looking for him. No one had a clue as to who kidnapped Benson. Finally a note arrived telling Teresa where to meet the captures and retrieve Benson. Teresa followed the instructions to the letter for fear Benson might be returned much for wear.
Alas, Benson was returned to Teresa and he was escourted him...while crowds of admirers cheered. All his neighbors and friends held a Welcome Home Party for Benson. Benson was the hero for the day with his party hat on and relating some the details of his ordeal. Some say Benson was a bit traumatized from the experience and it is just now that he is able to talk about it to everyone openly. In any case I saw no signs of Benson being ill at ease when all his guests arrived. He was his old friendly self...full of gusto and a brimming smile.
