The difference between the two versions is that developers who do not pay a registration fee will see a re-occurring splash screen when using the "Make EXE" option. A similar screen will also be displayed whenever an EXE file created using an unregistered copy is started. This does not stop you from creating or deploying these EXE files.

Registering your copy of MSM-Workstation removes the splash screen and entitles you to minor upgrades, which are also free of splash screens; you are also able to purchase optional maintenance that provides all major releases splash-screen free.
