About Sano: Sanosuke (Sano for short) is the eldest son of a farmer in Shinsu but left his family to join his friend and idol, Souzou Sagara. There he was raised by Souzou Sagara, leader of the Sekihoutai. Sekihoutai was working for the Meiji. One of their missions was the evangelize the promises if the new era was to be born. However when the war was about to end, Meiji officials thought that they could not fulfill their promises and for them not to lose the support of the people of Japan, they accused the Sekihoutai for lying to the people of Japan and had them assisinated by the Ishinshishi. Sano would always follow Souzou wherever he would go. Sagara isn't his real name but added it because he looks at Souzou as his family. When he heard about the rumor of Kenshin's presence in Kyoto, he challenged Kenshin for a duel. He was angry at Kenshin because he was a member of the Ishinshishi but later found out that Kenshin was just like Shouzou, a fighter who wanted to protect others, he stopped being a gangster and made friends with Kenshin (and stayed at the Kamiya dojo). He loves fighting and is also an ex-gangster. He used to have a zanbatou (horse-cutting sword) until Kenshin cut it in half. SInce then he quit using weapons and relied on his hand-to-hand fighting skills. He thought that he was good enough in hand-to-hand combat until he met Saitoh. He hates the guy a lot. His pride is the Futae no Kiwami (double limit) which he learned from Anji while training to defeat Saitoh, err training to be stronger. |
