The Next Step
The lab was very quiet. they had had very little work lately. This was good for Harry & Nikki who had been spending alot more time with eachother in the last few weeks. They were very much in love and they didnt hide anything. They would kiss right infornt of leo and sometimes have very innappropriate discussions around him, making him very uncomfortable. Leo was beginning to get used to this however. Nikki was very hungry so suggested she go out to buy lunch for everbody. Harry sent her to the chippy to buy them sausage and chips. The queue was very long and she ended up having to wait for three quarters of an hour.
During this time
Leo was standing counting his specimen jars peacefully singing walking on sunshine to himself. Harry wandered accross and started saying random numbers to throw leo off his counting.
Harry: 5....98...46....2...19....
Leo: OK harry you've got my attention. What do you want?
Harry: What do you think of me and nikki
Leo: What... as my colleagues? well you know i'm very fond of you and i love nikki to bits.....
Harry: No. i mean US as a couple?
Leo: I think you're very well suited mate.
Harry: I'm going to ask her to marry me.
Leo: Sorry?
Harry: I'm going to ask her to be Mrs Cunningham
Leo: Ermmm.... congratualtions.
He began to walk away from Harry but he called after him.
Harry: Don't you think its a good idea?
Leo: I didn't say that....
Harry: Thats what you meant. I love her Leo. More than i've every loved anyone in my whole life.
Leo: You've only been going ut for a couple of months.
Harry: I've known her for 2 years Leo. I know she's the one. When she talks to me, i never know what she's saying because i'm too busy thinking about how perfectly gorgeous she is. Remember last week when she asked me what i thought about dinner and i said "I think he had liver failure". my mind was still on a case i had been working on 2hours earlier.
Leo: I understand that Harry really i do but have you thought about it? you're both very young still.
Harry: Leo! we're both 30 years old, i think its old enough to get married.
Harry nodded his head and Leo nodded back in slight approval.
Harry: Anyway i didnt ask you for you're approval, i was actaully going to ask you to be my best man.
Leo looked up at him, a slight tear in his eye.
Harry: Sooo... will you??
Leo walked forward ignoring the hand harry had put infront for him to shake. he opened his arms and hugged him.
Leo: Of course i will
The door opened and Nikki walked in.
Nikki: Well i got 3 pieces of cod becuase they were out of..... Leo, can you please get off my boyfriend?!
