| Part 2 Jeb gave his little toothy grin and ran back over to Bob and finished biting away at his ropes. Then Jeb jumped onto Bobs chest and began to explain how he was the one who helped kill the troll. I know what youre thinking, how did a little squirrel like Jeb kill a big troll? Well, Bob wondered that too but Jeb said he knew that when you make a troll blind, hes basically defenseless because theyre also deaf. So when he scratched his eyes, the troll couldnt see and especially when his foot was on fire. The little Jeb simply tired the troll out and when he fell, he fell onto a huge rock, which crushed his pea brain head. Youre also probably wondering how Jeb can talk? Well, you see, Bob and Jeb had been alone in the forest and long, long time and Jeb soon learned to talk like Bob because they both needed a friend, but that story is for another time. For now, Bob and Jeb have to get out of this cavern. So Jeb finished up his story of his heroic deed to his master and friend. He hopped off Bobs chest and Hillbilly Bob leaned against the wall trying to get up, for he was very sore from being thrown against the wall twice. He warned Jeb not to go running off again like that. Jeb jumped into Bobs arms and Bob carried him out of the Trolls cave but then they were again where they started. Bob walked on and on until they reached a cave that ran behind a waterfall. Bob looked down and saw that they were above the lake that was near his shack. Jeb looked up at Bob and Bob looked down at Jeb and said, I sure hope you can swim. And with that he leaped out of the waterfall and into the lake. He swam to the top of the water and looked around for Jeb who jumped onto his head gasping for breath. Bob smiled and swam in the direction of his shack. Once the two were safely at home, Bob wanted to write his story, but then remembered he didnt know how to write so whenever he would go into town he would tell his story to all the old folk and all the young folk and this is how it is today. Maybe its been revised a few times, who knows? But that was the story of Hillbilly Bob and his huntin squirrel Jeb. NOW GO TO BED! I WONT READ YOU ANOTHER STORY! |
