MY HORSE, SILENTS STAR
This is Silents Star.  Star is a 21 year old Quarter Horse mare.  She is trained in Dressage, Jumping, Trail, Western Pleasure, and Halter.  Star is an amazing horse.  She is now permanently retired from the show ring due to advanced arthritis from being abused as a four year old.  I've had Star since she was six years old, and we have endured alot over the past 15 years.  Star is also recovered from EPM, which is a horrible disease caused by a parasite in the spinal column.
Star's Sad Story
God Bless America!!
I bought Star when she was six years old.  She was in awful shape.  I found out that she was beaten over four foot fences with a whip, stolen at one point, bred, and then left to starve to death, then sold at an auction.  The lady I bought her from was also abusive.  Poor girl.  Star had a major attitude problem when I bought her, with good reason.  It took me a while to trace her background to figure out what was wrong.  Then I found out she was pregnant a week before she had her colt.  Scary stuff!
This is Star & I in the January 2000 issue of The Quarter Horse Journal.  We earned a 1000 hours in the Horseback riding program.
I have moved Star & I upnorth to Sage Lake in Hale, MI.  She now lives at home with me in my back yard in the middle of the woods.  Star loves it and is being spoiled rotten by her Grandma & Grandpa.  We have 80 acres of private woods to ride in and the lake to ride to.  It's beautiful.  I can't wait to share my good fortune with my friends.
