He desperately wants to feel loved and approved of, so he does anything he can to try and help people and please them. However, because he was abandoned by his parents and betrayed by his guardians, he has a difficult time trusting people. He tends to go through a cling/withdrawl cycle. The one constant in his life is Catholicism. Even though he has a hard time believing God can love him, it's the one thing in his life that offers him any hope, so he clings to it wholeheartedly.
