Other familial tidbits: Miakoda's mother is from the Iich'ah Dine'e, or Moth People, an extinct clan. Niyol, and now Miakoda are the last of their kind. Miakoda officially belongs to her father's clan, the Bit'ahnii, but bears her mother's last name. Because a lot of the non-Navajo people that Miakoda has had to deal with in her work as an activist, she usually goes by the "Americanized" name Willow She (pronounced with the e as in 'egg'). 'Willow' from the meaning of her mother's first name, and 'She,' her father's last name. Miakoda's mother died when she was only a few years old, and her father raised her. Personality Quirks: Miakoda is usually soft-spoken, but firey. She has incredible strength of will. In bad times, she is often the one that holds the group together, and the others will often go to her for guidance. She is a very spiritual person, blending her Native American beliefs in spirits and majicks with her belief in God and Christ. She is not a member of any specific "church", however, claiming that denominations are only a white man's way of keeping people out. She is independent to a fault, very distrustful of the US government (even though she technically now works for them) and despises people that think Native Americans are all the same race of "Indians." On the lighter side, she loves The X-Files, something she inherited from her father. She is generous, and very willing to share her spirituality, and to help people de-stress and find their "quiet soul."
