He slipped into his blind, that he put up yesterday, a little before daylight . At around 7:30am a doe just appeared in front of him at 15 yards. Donnie started to draw on her and the deer saw him but couldn't make out what he was. Each time the doe took a bite it would look over at Donnie, everytime Donnie saw her bend over to get a bite he would start to draw his bow. A truck came up the road and the doe looked toward it and turned broadside. This gave Donnie a chance to get to full draw. At the shot the deer ran up the hill into some bushes and Donnie heard it frailing around. After about an hour and a half he started tracking. There was a lot of blood where he shot it and there was a good trail leaving. Donnie followed the trail up the field, through the bushes to the road then back into the bushes where he found the her with a hole through her neck about 75 yards from where he had shot her.
