Alan heard 5 turkeys gobbling at daylight and three of them were in the same direction two hollows over, So he went after them. After reaching the ridge just before this hollow he set up and started calling. Although the toms gobbled back,(all three),they wouldn't come in so he got closer and found that there was a small thickett that they would not come through. After setting up the second time the turkeys seem to disappear. He set there calling every few minutes but nothing answered. Then a few hours later he heard a cluck and a turkey steped into the road He had been watching. It walked out into the road and at about 35 yards he gave him a full load of number 4's. First Kentucky turkey down. 14 Lbs, 6" Beard, 1/2" Spurs.
Then he drove a short distance up the road and started hunting in Tennessee,(had to wait on Paul anyway). He started walking down a steep bank and looked over. There at the bottom was a gobbler struting and gobbling. went it turned and stretched out its neck Boom second jake in the same day and the first Tennessee tom. 14 Lbs, 5 3/4" Beard, 1/2" Spurs.
