James' late wife, who died of an unknown disease three years ago. James and Mary went once on a vacation to Silent Hill, Mary grew very fond of the town.
The day they left, she longed to return there again someday, James promised her to take her to Silent Hill again. Due to her illness the promise could not be fulfilled.
