This guide will tell you how to play World Of Warcraft on a private
server for free.
!WTF is a private server?
A private server is a server that is setup by individuals for use with
World Of Warcraft. They are free with no online costs at all. You
dont pay a fee per month. Hooray!!!
!OMFG What will i need?
First dry yourself off from excitement .You will need a copy of either
Retail World Of Warcraft (At least buy the game)or the Beta version
wich is all over the internet. You will
also need to download a client patch wich is like 150mb in size and
is found on the internet all over.(Note: some servers use certain
client patches check the servers in the next step before installing the
patches)
!Ok now setup time.
Once you have all the files ,to set it up is fairly simple. You will need
to become a member of a server ,visit
http://www.wowstatus.net/serverlist.php to
find the server you want. Then register a user name and password
for that server by visiting the site Useing Internet Explorer ONLY.
Once you have that setup
you have to find the Server Address for that server usually on their
site under Realmlist= XXXX. The XXXX is the Server Address. Once
you have found this info
go to where you installed World Of Warcraft (C:/program files/ world
of warcraft) and find the file realmlist.wtf and open this in notepad.
Now you must place the Server
address of your server there instead of the default. Example (set
realmlist abc-wow.servegame.com) the abc-wow.servegame.com is
the Server address of the one that i use.
When thats all done you can play World Of Warcraft with the login
details of the site you registered too.
!Cool but can i have a backup server?
Fuck yeah you can. Register to another server then open up
realmlist.wtf change it to the new Server Address and save as
realmlist2.wtf. Rename the realmlist2.wtf to realmlist.wtf
when you want to use it. Be sure to change your original realmlist.wtf
to another name for use later if you want to.
It took us a while to find this info out so please follow it carefully and
have fun. If you dont like the server your on, just sign up to another
one and change the realmlist.wtf
with the new Server Address.
