Interpretation #1 By Rondel Holder

The main character loves being misunderstood because that keeps his female companion’s interest. In actuality, he does know that he agrees with her, loving nature and its beauty. However he does not let her see that he agrees because being misunderstood keeps the relationship interesting, and simply agreeing with everything that she says makes him appear as a man who pacifies his woman by agreeing with her to spare an argument. Purposely opposing in opinion also tests their relationship to see whether or not what they have is strong enough so that each individual can have their own views while still being open minded enough to hear the other’s side.

Interpretation #2 By Keiza Rodney

My understanding of the prom is that it is about a boy who is love with being misunderstood. At the end o the poem, he’s saying that he may feel the same way she does about November days but chooses to oppose because he wants her to feel as if he has his own mind and is not following everything that she says or maybe because it makes things interesting for the relationship they have.
