Violet Eyes
Chapter 4
By Silent Stalker

DISCLAIMER: I own the computer that I am typing this on. That is all. I don't own either Gundam Wing or Weiss Kreuz, though like any good little yaoi fan, I desperately wish I did.

WARNINGS:Some violence, some bad words, massive vindictiveness. All in the name of Literary Art. This chapter is all Gundam Pilots (cept Duo of course). Sorry for those of you who love WK.

AUTHOR'S NOTES: This takes place in an odd part of the continuity of both shows. In Gundam Wing, it's been 2 years since Mariemaya's uprising. In Weiss Kreuz, it's been about 3 years since the end of the series with the whole immortality crap with Schwartz and Aya-chan and all. Bear in mind that I haven't seen the end of the series yet (my friend is loaning me her VCD's) so I'm taking mondo liberties with WK. My own version of the end of the series will come out in this story, but don't flame me for screwing with it, k?

"Do you think we'll ever find him?" Quatre asked his tall, silent companion, as they walked down the street of Tolerance, the capital of the now defunct Sanq kingdom.[1] They were there while on their hiatus from work and during their search for Duo because the Preventer HQ were located there. Despite their leave of absence, they didn't want to get too far from where they believed they belonged.

"Only time can tell, Cat," Trowa answered. He tucked his hands into the pocket of his jacket, and strolled along with his long time friend. They were taking a break from their obsessive lovers, who simply couldn't live with the fact that Duo had been hiding, and hiding something, from them.

"That's them," they head from the shadows, before at least 5 large people detached themselves from the shadows and surrounded the pair. It was dark out, and both boys cursed the fact they were unarmed and just strolling in the middle of the night.

The man who had spoken stepped into the orange light of a street lamp and sneered at them. "Look, it's the Gundam Pilots. You aren't wanted here, faggots."

"Excuse me?" Quatre asked. Ever the voice of reason, he could get pissed if you pushed the right buttons. And the thug had just pounded on them. "We can go where ever the hell we please. Are you gonna stop us?"

"You aren't wanted anywhere on earth, you little shit. You killed so many people, including my brother. I'll bet the colonies wouldn't even have your dead body in pieces."

"Well, I'm sorry if we killed your brother. The war took too many lives and that's why now we're trying to make up for it."

"Make up for it nothing!!" He shouted. "Every person in this crowd lost a family member or close friend to one of you cocksuckers!"

Quatre and Trowa looked around. A large crowd had indeed formed around them, intent on violence. This wasn't the first time this had happened to one the boys. Just the previous week, unknown aggressors chased first Heero, then Trowa and Wufei, through a busy street fair. They weren't sure why, but now the reason was obvious. Public opinion was shifting against them.

"What's wrong, fairy boy? Cat got your tongue? Or do you even remember every bloody death by your hand. Here, let me help you!" He raised his hand, and in it rested a large handgun.

Trowa reacted quickly, and shoved them both to the ground a split second before the gun went off. He felt a searing pain in his shoulder at the bullet hit. The crowd surged forward, wanting their deaths, and shouting. Trowa tucked Quatre against him, as everyone above him froze.

"Hey, were the hell'd they go??" One woman demanded.

"Yeah, Rodrigo! You said they'd pay!! Not escape!"

"Where are they?"

"How the hell did they disappear like that?"

Quatre tried to look up at what was going on, but Trowa wrenched his head back down. He knew Heero would never forgive him if Quatre were hurt here. "Don't move, don't say any thing, don't so much as breath until they leave," he hissed near silently in the blonde boy's ear.

Quatre complied and they crouched painfully in the middle of the crowd until they began to disperse and go elsewhere. Soon no one was left, and they stood. Quatre just stared at Trowa as the brunette tried to staunch the flow of blood. Then he came out of his stupor, and gave Trowa his jacket to use to stop the blood.

"What happened here, Trowa?" he asked solemnly.

"I'm an illusionist. I created the illusion of us not being there until they left." He held up a small piece of onyx. "This is my focus. Now c'mon. Let's get the hell outta here in case they come back."

They slipped down an alleyway and disappeared from prying eyes for real this time.

"They are monsters. Terrorists of the highest degree who acted with out moral or restraint during the war. They should be put under lock and throw away the key!!"

"Yes, I agree. But there is nothing we can do at the moment. The Gundam Pilots have gone into seclusion, and even I myself have no idea where they are at right this moment. But the Preventor agency has agreed to help in the search effort, and I promise will all be appeased."

Quatre, Trowa and Wufei watched the TV in muted horror, as Relena, the woman whose life they saved 2 years ago, denounced them on public television. And the boss they trusted, and knew would keep them safe, agreed to hunt them down. Lady Une's impassive face stared seemingly directly at them, from the screen of the TV. Trowa suppressed a shudder from the cold, and wrapped his arms around Wufei, who was shaking in silent fury.

Heero frowned as he looked at them, and the trash they were watching. He knew this was coming, knew what was eventually gonna happen. The changing tide of the public favor, plus the four's obvious disregard for the agency they used to work for, until recently. Add in his own not so subtle rejection of the "pacifist queen" and he knew they would be in hiding for the rest of their lives. Always running, never living. He reached down and turned off the TV with the remote, then walked over and pulled Quatre into his embrace. For his part, the blond boy merely turned his blank, hurt eyes to the floor. A single tear ran from one eye and down his cheek.

The stood for a few moments in complete silence, coming to terms with what this meant for them. What they're future would hold. It was Wufei who broke the silence, but it needed to be said:

"What now?"

"Hn. Anywhere's better then here." Heero answered. They all turned and looked at him.

"I take it you finished it?" Trowa asked.

Heero nodded. "It was finished earlier today. I just now put in the coordinates that Duo had in his one. I've got the plans, the old machine and my machine. I even know where Duo went wrong so that it blew up. We can follow to where ever he went. There's nothing left for us here."

"Not with the entire populous against us." Quatre whimpered. It had shook him to his core, this announcement. One person's rejections he could take. Maybe a city, or colony's worth. But not that of an entire planet. They would never be safe, wherever they went.

Heero hugged him tighter, knowing what was going through his head. "I suggest sever any remaining ties and follow him. At least where he is, we know we have at least one ally. I hope."

Quatre pulled out of Heero's arms. "I have to make a call before we leave, and get some stuff straightened out." Heero nodded.

"We'll reconvene right here with all curtains down and doors and windows locked in 3 hours."

"Salaam. This is Rashid. Please leave a message after the beep. Allah bless. *beeeeeeeeeeeeep*"

"Hi Rashid. This is Quatre. Look, I'm sorry that I'm leaving this on your message machine, knowing that you won't get it till you get home later. I just thought I'd let you know that I've been safe for the past couple of months. I've been with Heero and the guys. Look, I, uh, just saw the report on TV, the one with the prices on our head from the Vice-Minister. So I'm gonna go. Vanish. Leave public sight. It isn't a temporary thing. This is permanent. Just thought I'd let you know that I never blamed you. I know you had no hand in this crap. I'll. . . I'll miss you, all of you. Give my sisters my love, even though I've never met most of them. *broken sob* God, I'll miss you guys. You were my family. Well, BYE!! *Dial tone*"

"Heya, you've reached the cell phone of Catherine Bloom! I'm not answering because I'm in the middle of a performance most likely!! As a matter of fact, the only reason I have this craptacular POS, is so you CAN reach me. Well, the animals call! Gotta go!! Leave a line or two at the beep!! *beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!*"

"Hi Cathy. This, as you prolly figured, is Trowa. I'm calling to tell you I love you and I'll miss you. No, I'm not committing suicide. That's Heero's department. Anyhoo, well, you must have seen the crap on TV. The little bit, well, not so little, with Relena and Lady Une. That hurt. To say the least. I think Quatre is still reeling. Fei's pissed. You know me, I'm the strong silent type. Look, I know you prolly could have hid us all in the circus, at least for a little while, but that would have been jeopardizing you. And I won't stand for that. I love you too much. I wish I could say I knew 100% that I was Triton Bloom, to ease your heart. But even if I'm not, I want you to know I love you. I gotta go now. I won't be coming back, Cathy. Uh, give the lions my love, I guess. Bye. *dial tone*"

"You have reached the offices of Agent Sally Po. I'm not in right now, so leave a message after the beep. *beep*"

"Hello. This is Wufei. Hmph. To say that I am upset is a grievous understatement. WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT CRAP?!?! HOW THE HELL COULD YOU SELL US OUT LIKE THAT?!?! Ahem. I apologize. That was out of line. I'm, still in a bit of shock. I feel as though I have been stabbed by a close friend. Well, in truth, I have. I did consider you a friend. Anyway, the fact of the matter is, since the four of us have no longer any refuge on earth or the colonies who spawned us, we are leaving. I just thought, as you were one of my closest friends, I would let you know. I cannot tell you where we are going, because I know not myself, yet. I will find out soon, when Yuy tells me. But I can tell you this is permanent. We will not be returning from this last journey, Sally. Yeah, I called you by your first name. If you look out you're window, you'll see pigs fly by overhead. Burn in Hell. Goodbye."

Subject: BURN IN HELL, BITCH!!

Dearest Relena,

Gag me. How the hell could I right "Dearest" in context with YOU??!?! Yeah, they say Duo's the mouthy one, but he's not here right now, so it falls on me to righteously, verbally tear you to shreds and spread the pieces in the four corners of the earth. And space. I saw the TV broadcast. How could I not? It's been the talk of the town all evening. You and the others are lucky I didn't just sniper your asses right then and there. I would have, too, if I didn't have more pressing matters to attend to. Like trying to hold together the shattered pieces of my team. First the disappearance of Duo, then this. You wonder why I rejected you?? Cuz you're a petty bitch!! Well, we've decided to take the power outta your hands, and leave. Yeah, that's right. We're leaving. And you won't be able to find us. Hell, you won't even be able to trace this email, with the 5 best hackers in the world gone. Have fun in the hell you've created Relena. I'll laugh from my vantage point when they turn on you, too.

~No need for an 'Omae o korosu'~
~Heero Yuy

PS: If you got this far, well, if you even opened the email like a good little bitch, then your computer and any connected to it through a modem or network is being infected with a virus. Have fun getting it out.
PPS: I sent one to the Preventors HQ, too. ::grin::

"Well, it's time to go." Heero commented. He pushed some buttons on the Machine, and they stared in awe as the glowing green portal emerged. There were no sputters this time, and they knew Heero had built it properly. Taking a deep breath, Trowa hefted his bag onto his good shoulder, and stepped into the green light. Wufei, holding his hand, followed. Quatre looked back at his lover, and stepped through as well. Taking one last look around the small apartment, Heero was the last to go. Soon the portal faded, and all that was left there was a soft breeze and some scorch marks on the floor.

End Notes: Dontja just love their final goodbyes? I tried to make them as close to character as I could. Well, except Trowa's. He's obviously OOC, but that's on purpose. And Heero's. I did that on purpose, too, cuz, I figured, no one ever know what he does on that laptop of his!! Well, I decided to make him a writer, and as a writer, he'd be more personal on a computer. So that email was something closer to what a jaded fugitive 18 year old would write, which is what the four are now. Don't flame me for my thinking!!

[1] Since no city was ever mentioned in Sanq, I decided to make one up.
