Hey all! I finally got around to writing this, although I SHOULD be working on Violet Eyes. I kinda promised myself that I wouldn't start any more new stories until I finished on of my other ones. Oh well. This chapter actually happens kinda before the epilogue. I changed a bit from the Epi of CA, so if you go "That's wrong and that's wrong and that, that and that are wrong!" I really won't care. I'm in no major hurry to get this done.
Disclaimer:Harry Potter is not mine, never was mine. I'm not making any money off this, it is for entertainment purposes only. Should someone official take displeasure with this story (Such as the author), it will be removed. Otherwise, it's staying here for other people's enjoyment. Happy readings!
Warnings: Nothing much to warn you about in this chapter. . . sorry
Thanks to my wonderful penpal/beta/odd friend - Shadow. You're awesome, dear!! Hope you can come to Tacoma for Christmas!!
"You ready Harry?" Raspberry stood next to the fireplace in the living room of one Remus Lupin and his roommate/boyfriend Sirius Black. Said gentlemen stood together off to the side staring warily at the woman and her nephew. And the green squirrel careening around the room.
When Harry had owl'd them in early June, they were thrilled. When he had announced he was staying at a friend's house and not the horrible Dursleys, they were happy for him. When he asked if he could use their fireplace to travel to the wizarding cruise ship he was taking using floo powder, they agreed readily. When they had picked him up from the train station to take him home for 2 weeks, they were content in the knowledge he was safe for the time being. And when he finally caved the day before he left and told them just where he was going, they refused, flat out.
"Harry, it's my duty as a semi-parental unit wannabe to not let you do things detrimental to your health." Sirius said. "And willingly going into the pit of snakes known as the Malfoy family is definitely harmful to you. What were you thinking?"
"I'm thinking that I'm head over heels in love with one Draco Malfoy and that nothing is gonna keep us apart, come Hell or High water," Harry answered with a straight face. "And I'm not going into a 'pit of snakes' as you call it. I'm going to stay with a teacher of mine from the last 2 years. It just so happens that Draco might be there as well."
Sirius and Remus just stared at Harry. "In love with . . .!?" Sirius managed out. "You're in love with a Malfoy?"
Harry groaned and rubbed his forehead.
So now, here was Raspberry, hanging on to one end of Harry's levitating trunk, and Hedwig in her cage on top, waiting for Harry to say goodbye. They were going to take a Wizarding Cruise Line ship, then a train from Boston to Seattle. The entire trip would take about 1 week by boat and 2 days by train. The train was a wizarding one as well. There was no Knight Bus in the US. Draco was already waiting at the port for them.
Harry smiled weakly at Sirius and Remus. They still had their reservations, but were willing to let him go. As Harry's semi-legal guardian, Sirius still had the final say. "Well, Harry. I won't say I fully approve of this, but if it makes you happy and keeps you out of Voldemort's line of sight, then, well, have fun."
Sirius and Remus hugged Harry, then watched as him and Raspberry threw some powder in the fire and shouted: "Wizarding Cruise Line Docks!" Then they were gone.
Remus turned to Sirius and wrapped his arms around the slightly taller man. "You're still upset." He commented offhandedly.
"Harry will be Harry no matter what we do, and if he loves that git of a Malfoy, then that's what he's gonna do." Sirius replied, burying his face in Remus' neck. "I just worry about him, that's all."
"Yeah, but don't forget. Before all this Voldemort stuff, before James met Lily, back in our 3rd year, James had a crush on Lucius Malfoy. And from what I saw then and see now and from what Harry said, I'd say Draco is a fair sight better to be in love with. One has to wonder just what went through Narcissa's head when she married the man."
"Remember the pranks we used to pull on her and the rest of the Slytherin girls?" Sirius laughed.
Remus chuckled in response. "I don't think I'll ever forget."
