Sileighty: (n) A Nissan 180sx which has had it's front clip replaced by that of a Nissan Silvia. In Japan where Touge, or Mountain racing, began it became commonplace for 180sx owners to replace their damaged 180sx front clips with those of the cheaper Silvia clips. Thus the Sileighty was born. Nissan took advantage of this trend and actually produced around 400 factory built Sileighties. Today the most commonly swapped silvia clips are from either the S13 or S15 (a.k.a. Strawberry face) chassis codes. In the U.S.A. the 180sx is known as the 240sx fastback and the Silvia is known just as a 240sx so the name Sileighty is somewhat of a misnomer. Would that make it a Silforty? Or Strawberry Hatch?
Here are some pics of this beautiful amalgamation we all know as the Sileighty.
