In 1823, the first Texas Rangers were formed by Stephen F. Austin to protect early settlers from Indian raids. Led by colorful men such as Captain Jack Hayes and John "RIP" Ford, the Rangers established a reputation for toughness, skill and dedication that continues to this day. In 1968, the Texas Ranger Hall Of Fame & Museum was established in Waco to honor these great men and display many of their weapons. It is open Monday-Sunday from 9:00am-5:00pm and costs $5.00 for adults and $2.50 for children under 12.
NOTE: Always take adequate precautions (such as prodding with a stick and/or wearing gloves) before reaching into dark crevasses and holes in the wild. Before you set out read the waiver of responsibility and disclaimer.
