Mount Baldy is located just outside Wimberley and has a series of steps that lead to one of the most amazing panoramic views of the area. Several years ago, the congregation of Trinity Church purchased Mount Baldy and renamed it Prayer Mountain, so I figure the steps can now be considered a Stairway to TX Heaven. The stamp is two-sided: ascending & descending. You can stamp one or both.

Directions:

From Wimberley go northwest on Ranch Road 12, turn left on FM 2325 for about 1 mile, then turn right on Woodcreek Drive. Take the first right, El Camino Real, then another right at La Toya Trail, which is marked by a stop sign. Drive about 1/2 mile to Mount Baldy on the left and park across from the steps on the right.

Clues:

Climb the steps to the top and continue walking northeast across the top to the far side. Look right for a cedar bush with a branch sprawled along the ground reaching toward you. Walk around the left side of the bush to where the branch meets the trunk. The letterbox is under rocks and needles beneath the branch. Enjoy the view while stamping in. Please replace as described and be discreet if others are around.

NOTE: Always take adequate precautions (such as prodding with a stick and/or wearing gloves) before reaching into dark crevasses and holes in the wild. Before you set out read the waiver of responsibility and disclaimer.
