Pedernales Falls State Park is located along the banks of scenic Pedernales River in the Texas Hill Country. The Falls is the park's main attraction, but other activities include camping, picnicking, hiking, river swimming, tubing, mountain biking, fishing and bird watching. Wildlife in the park is typical of the Texas Hill Country and includes white-tailed deer, coyotes, rabbits, armadillos, skunks, opossums and raccoons. Over 150 species of birds have been seen in the park, and about one-third of these are permanent residents. So come enjoy this park while looking for this microbox.

Directions:

The park may be reached by traveling 9 miles east of Johnson City on FM 2766 or by traveling west of Austin for 32 miles on US Highway 290, then north on FM 3232 for 6 miles.

Clues:

After stopping at headquarters to pay entrance fee, drive to the falls parking lot and walk to the falls overlook. After viewing the falls, walk back up to the sign saying "No Swimming" and turn right (west) onto another path. Walk 35 steps to another sign talking about trespassing. Walk another 20 steps and look left (south) for a cedar tree and oak tree growing next to each other about 6 steps away. The microbox is on the back side of the oak tree at its base under a dead branch, covered by rocks. Please re-cover well.
