Paisano Pete Microbox

Paisano Pete

Placed By: Silver Eagle
Date: 03/16/08
Nearest Town: Fort Stockton, TX
County: Pecos
Terrain Difficulty: Easy (flat, 50 yards RT)
Status: alive, broken stamp (07/12/09)

Located in the middle of Fort Stockton is Paisano Pete, the largest roadrunner in the world at 10 feet tall and 22 feet long. Though this microbox is probably the smallest roadrunner in the world, it pays tribute to this great landmark in west TX. I used to have my Displaced Donkey microbox hidden here, but it has been replaced with this one, so come visit again to stamp into a new box.

Directions:

In Fort Stockton going west on I10, exit 261 onto Business I10. Going east on I10, exit 256 onto Business I10. Follow it to the intersection with Main Street and park near the statue of Paisano Pete. NOTE: As of 07/30/08 the statue is temporarily gone for a make-over, but the microbox is still accessible.

Clues:

From Pete, walk south to the brick wall garden behind him. Turn left (east) and walk along the wall until it turns right (south). Continue following the wall until it turns right again. The camo microbox is in the inside corner of the wall under stones. Please be discreet and re-cover well.

NOTE: Always take adequate precautions (such as prodding with a stick and/or wearing gloves) before reaching into dark crevasses and holes in the wild. Before you set out read the waiver of responsibility and disclaimer.
