Whenever my daughter plays in a soccer tournament in Austin it seems we end up going to the Northeast Metro Park in Pflugerville, so I finally decided to place a box here. In addition to soccer this park is a multiple-use recreational area with playgrounds, picnicking and a hiking/biking trail.

Directions:

From Austin, go north on I35 about 10 miles to the Wellsbranch-Pflugerville-1825 exit. On the access road turn right onto 1825 which branches off it. This road will eventually become Pecan Road and the Northeast Metro Park entrance will be on the right after about 5.5 miles. Or, take Hwy 290 east, then north on toll road 130 to Pecan Street. Turn left and after about .2 mile the park will be on the left. Once in the park, go right at the traffic circle toward soccer fields 1-10. Park in the lot by the big building on the left.

Clues:

From the parking lot, walk back across the road you came in on and find the trailhead for the Hike & Bike Trail going into the woods. Turn left at the trail jct and head south for about 100 yards to a trail post on the right with number 2 on the top. Continue walking 55 steps and at the 18th line in the cement path from the post, look left for a medium cedar tree about 8 steps off trail. The camo microbox is hanging on the back side about 3 feet high. Please replace as described.

NOTE: It has been reported that the #2 post is no longer there, but there is a pile of brush and a tree stump. Hopefully you can still find the medium cedar tree, which is not too far from where the path exits the woods.
