This letterbox was placed for the 6th TX Annual Letterbox Event (TALE6) held on 3/7/09 at Mission Tejas SP. The clues were divided into 4 parts and given to 4 different people. Everyone then had to talk with the other letterboxers to get all the clues, which helped with the meet & greet process. This park currently embraces letterboxing, so please be respectful so we can keep this bond.

Directions:

From Crockett, which is located about 130 miles north of Houston, go northeast on Hwy 21 for 21 miles to Weches. Turn left on Park Road 44 to Mission Tejas State Park. Pay fee and drive to the parking lot for the playground near the trailhead for the Nature Trail.

Clues:

Go left on the Nature Trail across the bridge and go around the left side of the pond to another bridge. Cross this bridge and bear left 40 steps to a Y jct. Go left for about 25 steps to another bridge. Cross this bridge and walk uphill 80 steps to a Lightning Trail sign on the right. Continue 70 steps to a pine tree on the right edge of the trail. Continue 5 more steps, then turn left and walk 10 steps off trail to a small stump on the left side of a tree. The letterbox is within under sticks and leaves. Please re-cover well.
