In 1940, Dr. Seuss wrote "Horton Hatches The Egg", followed in 1954 with "Horton Hears A Who". In both stories the kind-hearted elephant displays amazing faithfulness and determination. If you show the same traits, this Horton minibox can be found at Guadalupe River SP. So give a Yop and visit Horton soon. This is a new stamp and new location from the original Horton box that went missing, so consider it a new find.

Directions:

From I10, go east on Hwy 46 through Boerne for 13 miles to Park Road 31. Go north to Guadalupe River State Park entrance, pay fee and get a map. Continue to the Cedar Sage camping area on the left and park by the trailhead between campsites 33 and 34.

Clues:

Walk about 50 yards to a jct by a water tank and go left for 90 steps to a large multi-trunk tree on the left surrounded by small pine trees about 5 steps off trail. This is just before a yellow trail marker. Walk to the tallest pine tree directly behind the multi-trunk tree. The camo minibox is tied to a branch about 4 feet high. The box is a pill container and is permanently attached to the tree, so remove the top by pushing down while turning counter-clockwise. When replacing the top, make sure to screw it on all the way and check to make sure it doesn't come off if you lift up on it.

NOTE: Always take adequate precautions (such as prodding with a stick and/or wearing gloves) before reaching into dark crevasses and holes in the wild. Before you set out read the waiver of responsibility and disclaimer.
