This microbox was originally intended for Boquillas, Mexico, a border town just across the Rio Grande river from Big Bend National Park and one of the few places you could visit without going through customs. Sadly, the Government has closed this access, so I changed this box from Boquillas Burro to the Displaced Donkey and found a new home for it in the middle of Fort Stockton near Paisano Pete. However, I have now placed a new box at this location, so the Displaced Donkey has been moved again to Balmorhea SP. This is a great place to cool off in the summer, so even if you have already stamped into this box, come visit again at his new location.

Directions:

From I10 west, exit on Hwy 17 south to Balmorhea, then continue another 4 miles to Balmorhea SP on the left. Park by the Group Hall near the picnic area.

Clues:

Walk southwest through the picnic area to the back side of the brick building overlooking the pool. At the nearest corner, go left around the clump of bushes. The camo microbox is hanging near the base of the second bush. Please replace as described and be discreet.

NOTE: Always take adequate precautions (such as prodding with a stick and/or wearing gloves) before reaching into dark crevasses and holes in the wild. Before you set out read the waiver of responsibility and disclaimer.
