The Cat Who Went Up The Creek is the 24th "Cat Who" mystery by Lilian Jackson Braun, and includes the usual characters: journalist Jim Qwilleran and his two Siamese cats, Koko and Yum Yum. This time they find themselves involved in a murder investigation at an inn by a creek. This book, as in all the others, is enjoyable more for the quirky characters than the mystery itself and makes for fun, light reading. Since Lake Houston Park has Peach Creek running through it, I thought it would be a good place for this microbox. So come visit the park to look for this box, and maybe listen to the audio version of this book on the way.

Directions:

From Houston go north on US 59 to New Caney and take the FM 1485 exit. Turn right and go 2 miles to Baptist Encampment Road. Turn right and go a couple of miles down the road. Turn left into Lake Houston Park.

Clues:

From parking lot walk east to Headquarters to pay fee, then continue walking east and cross the bridge across Peach Creek. Turn right at the first trail on the other side and stay right on the Peach Creek Trail. Walk several hundred yards until you cross the second bridge. Continue 8 steps on the trail after the second bridge and turn left. Walk 10 steps off trail, then turn left and walk 5 steps to a large pine tree. Continue around the right side of the pine for another step to a medium tree. The camo microbox is hanging 4 feet high on a small branch. Please rehide as described.

NOTE: Always take adequate precautions (such as prodding with a stick and/or wearing gloves) before reaching into dark crevasses and holes in the wild. Before you set out read the waiver of responsibility and disclaimer.
