The Bridge on the River Kwai is a 1957 British World War II film by David Lean based on the novel The Bridge Over the River Kwai by French writer Pierre Boulle. The film is a work of fiction but borrows the construction of the Burma Railway in 1942-43 for its historical setting. It is a great movie and when I visited Jackson and saw the bridge over Jackson Falls, I decided to place this box there in dedication to it.

Directions:

Go north on Hwy 16 to Jackson and turn right on Hwy 16A, crossing the covered bridge. Continue as it bends left for about 1/2 mile to Carter Notch Road. Turn right and go about .3 miles to the picnic area by Jackson Falls on the right. Park in the designated area on the side of the road.

Clues:

Walk upstream about 200 yards to the green bridge spanning Wildcat Brook on Valley Road, admiring the falls as you go. Cross over on the right side of the bridge and step down under it. The microbox is about an arm's length under, resting on the concrete/metal bridge support under some rocks. Please replace as described and be discreet.

NOTE: Always take adequate precautions (such as prodding with a stick and/or wearing gloves) before reaching into dark crevasses and holes in the wild. Before you set out read the waiver of responsibility and disclaimer.
