Cozumel is a popular tourist destination known for its water sports, but it is also home to interesting wildlife, including crocodiles. You can see them, along with this box, at the Punta Sur Ecological Reserve.

Directions:

Punta Sur Park is located on the southern tip of Cozumel. You can rent a car, take a taxi or sign up for a tour to visit. We visited as part of a shore excursion from a Carnival Cruise ship. Park near the crocodile lagoon with a boardwalk and tower.

Clues:

Walk south on the road a few yards to the Mayan ruin El Caracol. From the sign describing it on the ground, continue another 15 steps south on the road to a palm tree on the left 2 steps off the road. The microbox is on the back side within the fronds of the trunk about 5 feet high. Please replace as described and be discreet.

NOTE: Always take adequate precautions (such as prodding with a stick and/or wearing gloves) before reaching into dark crevasses and holes in the wild. Before you set out read the waiver of responsibility and disclaimer.
