In 1923, the magnificent Marginal Way was given as a gift to the town of Ogunquit by Josiah Chase of York and is a 1.25 mile paved footpath running from Perkins Cove to Ogunquit Beach. It is called “the margin” because of its patterned development along the rocky edge of the cliff, and it offers one of the finest panoramas of a rocky coastal shoreline anywhere in Maine. There are many benches along the way to rest and admire the view, and also to stamp into this microbox.
NOTE: Always take adequate precautions (such as prodding with a stick and/or wearing gloves) before reaching into dark crevasses and holes in the wild. Before you set out read the waiver of responsibility and disclaimer.
