The Senator is the largest (by volume) bald cypress tree in Florida and the oldest at over 3500 years. It stands over 126 feet tall and 47 feet in circumference. In 1927 Senator Overstreet donated 10 acres of swamp land north of Orlando to be used as a park to preserve several huge cypress trees that grew there and the largest one was named The Senator in his honor. The park is called Big Tree Park and a boardwalk has been built to access the tree. So come see for yourself, and look for this microbox at the same time.

Directions:

From Orlando, take I4 East and exit State Route 434, Longwood and turn right. Proceed about 4 miles to US 17/92 and turn left. Drive north for about 2 miles, then turn left on General Hutchinson Parkway. Big Tree Park will be on the left after about 1 mile.

Clues:

Walk on the boardwalk to the Big Tree and admire its size. Now go to the end of the bench nearest the tree and find a palm tree behind it on the other side of the railing. Lean over the rail and look within a cut frond about 6 inches above the height of the rail. The camo microbox is within, under a rock. Please be discreet and re-cover well. NOTE: A recent finder found the box off to the right side of the tree within a frond covered by moss, not a rock.
