Brandywine Creek State Park is Delaware's first state park, and also contains Delaware's first two nature preserves: Tulip Tree Woods, and Freshwater Marsh. Altogether there are eight blazed trails on both sides of the water, providing a hiker's paradise. Also, an extensive meadow management program, active bluebird population program, and variety of habitats make the Park an outstanding place to see wildflowers, songbirds, deer and other flora and fauna. So come enjoy nature while looking for this microbox. While here, you can also look for the Future Discovery Road Runner letterbox.

Directions:

Brandywine Creek State Park is located three miles north of Wilmington at the intersection of Delaware Routes 100 and 92. The entrance is on Adams Dam Road. Park at the office and nature center.

Clues:

Take time to go into the nature center and view the birds and butterflies through the glass wall. Then walk behind the nature center on the trail to the Tulip Woods Nature Preserve. Walk about 75 yards to a Y jct. and take the right (southeast) fork (yellow & red trail). Walk 75 steps until the trail bends to the left (northeast). Look to the right (southwest) for a large tree 5 steps from the trail with a rock wall behind it. Walk behind the tree and find the rock on top of the wall with 1 large and 1 small white splotch on it. The microbox is hidden in a crevice halfway down to the ground below that rock behind some small stones. Please re-cover well.

NOTE: Always take adequate precautions (such as prodding with a stick and/or wearing gloves) before reaching into dark crevasses and holes in the wild. Before you set out read the waiver of responsibility and disclaimer.
