The most recent news from Richard is that he is in Ireland making a film with Jeremy Irons, Sir Richard Attenborough, Ardal O'Hanlon and the lead is Sean Hughes.  There are no further details as yet but as soon as details are known, the information will be posted.

Richard has recently starred in a tv series called Fat Friends. It was based around the lives of a group of slimmers.  It was set to explore a lot of the myths surrounding the slimming industry. Could start a new "Big is Beautiful" trend.  The series was about slimming and all the troubles that can happen.  There was plenty of on the edge of the seat drama here.  The first episode was on at the beginning of October in the UK.   Richard finished filming the show in July.  It is quite blunt but has a lot of laughs with many poignant moments as well.  

Richard has also returned from filming 'Relic Hunter' with Tia Carrera (from 'Waynes World' fame) in April.  This was filmed in France and has since been shown on US television in June.

His appearance of 'Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased)' as PC Buns was shown on 22nd April on BBC1.  There was a sneak preview in the behinds the scenes show on 15th April.  His character turned out to be a very nasty piece of work!    When strangers entered the 1940's style village, whether they dropped litter or caused any trouble at all, he prevented them from leaving the place by torturing and killing them.  One of his 'victims' was left to rot in a gibbet. Nice - not!!!

The film 'Joan of Arc' ('The Messenger') was released in early March to mixed reviews unfortunately but received a lot more praise in the US when it was released there last November.  Richard played La Hire (the Rage), one of Joan's most loyal companions.
