The following poems were written at various times in my life, and only a few would represent times that I was actually in "love". The other poems were written at times that I only wanted to try to capture the feeling. Can you tell the difference?

Glance of You

My Beloved, where are you going
Fading away in the quiet snowing
Desiring touch when the cold is gone
Only that I would melt in your arms
Sweetheart, where would I find you
If life did not turn out as expected to
I love you more than life and even I
Greater than claimed eternity's supply
You are beautiful as I felt your words
More wonderful than this very Earth
You asked me if I loved you before
I could love you no less only more
We'd still be where we are as we feel
Unprecedented is how we've steeled
Sweeter than respect could be placed
That if our love's steps were effaced
And in life if we were again strangers
Would lessen not what hearts endanger
For I know that if we lived once again
I would love you for that I am certain

My One

There is a great amount of what I've seen for you and I
But there is much in you I have yet to trust and rely
For now that I've chosen to see you in all your ways
It is being with you I wish to spend the rest of my days
And I look first upon a friend that who has held my heart
You've become so close to me that you are my other part
I look once gratefully and thankfully to the one Above
For stands before me now a person that I so dearly love
But when I look again I envision not a person but a place
Joy forever filling yet not overflowing by any trace
Then I see it again for it is that of your own capacity
It is the many blessings you are able to give to me
And though I know and have found this open realm of you
It has enough space in it for making room for two
As I smile with excitement after I gazed into your soul
I have yet to get the total view of your very whole
And though you exist as to me only as a best friend
I've seen your heart and in it I've seen that heaven
And then I can see revealed to me your desire
The love you can give and the dreams touching you inspire

Pure Love

Your presence and words fall as blessings like melting wax
Speaking to each other as if it were as natural as breath retracts
I feel you so close and know that beauty is listening
I can watch the light in your eyes in curious glistening
The thoughts of you trample me fast and in number like herds
Memories of your movements and exchanges of sweet words
I do not want to break our connection or challenge time
I believe friendship is appropriate and respect is to be prime
I will treat you as a friend and if it progresses
Then may we open our love and outpour as each confesses
I will respect you because you are worth waiting for
Knowing that by being joined our affections mean much more
For I will give you my hand to hold unto death we part
And I will love you and keep you to the vows we do impart

To the Soul That Sings

Beauty asks and you simply answer
Your love moves as an expert dancer
Your presence is like a limitless root
Not the fruit of this world could repute
If sweetness you contain exceeds it
Then branch out in growth as life breeds it
Be it faith or be it unknown sight
That you are all the fuel of my light
You are my desire and I am yours
You are the dream that forever endures
More than a reason that grows for me
My shelter that shades so lovingly
You are my half so perfectly made
Our evident whole in nature is displayed
Just as the salt owns the watery ocean
You have my love, life, and devotion

Take Me In

Holding onto the edge
she's been wanting to fly
Her life is a coarse path
but she's not willing to die
she lifts up her arms
without anything to embrace
She lets the wind brush her hair
as the rain falls on her face
Her wicked dreams have left her
Her smile has risen above her
Not anymore a solitary drifter
But something much more lovelier
Her hands have something to hold onto
Her life has now more meaning
Still strengthening in open view
Without the world intervening
She kisses the sky and falls over
Her wrists are unbound and warm
The One who loves her, loves her
She sings praises even in this storm

The poem above was written to the lover of my soul and to the only being capable of giving an eternal and unconditional love...to my God. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 "Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
