APPEARANCE
& DISTINGUISHING FEATURES:
PERSONALITY PROFILE:
Mitchell is a
well adjusted man and tries to stay as open minded as he can. He
enjoys joking around as much as the next
man, but always keeps his responsibilities in perspective, preferring
to get
his work finished, before enjoying
himself. Mitchells position takes up a
large amount of his time, and doesn't allow him to spend as much time
as he
wishes with his friends and family.
Mitchell is
generally outgoing and open with his friends, and pretty much acts the
same
around people he is unfamiliar with. He
finds it easy to get along with people and comes across as quite
charismatic. In reality though,
Mitchell isn't as trusting as he seems, and is always alert to the
situation
around him. He has a welcoming outlook
and always tries to see the best in people, believeing that first
impressions
count for a lot.
The only time
Mitchell seems to change is when he is given an ultimatum, or
threatened. He does not back down, and the more he is
aggravated, the more determined he becomes. He is not a stubborn man,
but he
certainly does not take kindly to being told what to do, unless its
through the
proper channels of course.
AWARDS:
-27.7.2377 "BRAVO FLEET Recruitment Award"
Mitchell
becomes the second person to be awarded the
Bravofleet Recruitment Award.
-31.8.2377
"The Styx
Award"

FAMILY:

Serving
as Assistant Chief Engineer (Lieutenant Commander)
on USS Missouri.
Mother, Alora, 57.
Science
Officer, Based at Starfleet HQ, San Francisco, Earth
Father, Frank, 59.
Astrometrics Specialist, Based at Starfleet HQ, San Francisco, Earth
BACKGROUND:
Mitchell was born
and raised on the federation colony, New Paris. Both his parents
were science technicians at the colony's
research station. Neither Mitchell, or
his twin sister, Jayde, were particularly interested in following in
they're
parents careers, and they both knew that their futures lay outside of
New
Paris.
When a Federation
starship visited to resupply, mitchell got talking to some members of
the crew,
and realized he had found his future career.
Convincing his sister to join also, Mitchell secured passage to
Hawkeye
Island, the home of Bravofleet, where they both enlisted.
For the first
time, Mitchell and Jayde went they're separate ways, Mitchell heading
for
flight school, and Jayde applying for Engineering.
After successfully completing cadet training, they were both
assigned
they're first postings. Mitchell was
assigned to the USS Endeavor-C, and
Jayde to the USS Iowa. This
was the
first time they had been separated.
Mitchell served
the rest of his time as a cadet on the USS Endeavor-C, at which point
he was given
the position of Shuttle pilot on the USS Missouri.
Remaining onboard the Missouri for
several years, Mitchell served
well, and over time was promoted to chief shuttle pilot, and then on to
assistant conn officer.
Realizing he was
going no further on the USS Missouri, Mitchell requested a transfer,
and was
promptly offered the position of Chief Conn, on the newly commissioned
USS
Hood. After Mitchell had served just
over a year as Chief Conn officer, the Hood was involved with a freak
encounter
with the Breen, and a battle ensued. The fight was long but the hood
managed to
drive of the breen Heavy Cruiser, but not without significant
loss.
The damage that the ship had taken had not
only resulted in the loss of several of the bridge crew, but also the
Death of
the Captain himself. As was his duty,
the Executive officer stepped up to take command of his vessel, and
duly
appointed Mitchell as his acting XO.
The young officer was shocked, but jumped at the chance, and
successfully helped the Acting Captain to limp the heavily damaged ship
back to
Federation space. So impressed was the
ships executive officer, that when he was officially given command of
the USS
Hood, he immediately promoted Mitchell to Lieutenant Commander and gave
him the
position of First officer.
From then on,
Mitchell Quinn served as first officer of the Hood, quickly gaining a
reputation for his No Retreat, No surrender approach to command.
Although often taking more risks than truly
necessary, Mitchells record spoke for itself, and he was soon offered
his own
command in Task force 72, The newly commissioned USS Saratoga.
Quickly earning a promotion to Full Captain,
it wasn’t long before Mitchell took the helm of the newly formed Task
Force 72
Delta Group, guiding along the newer Commanding Officers and taking
them under
his wing. After two years of Command, Mitchell had already seen off an
attack
by sub-space creatures, foiled a Romulon plot to exploit a federation
science
station, and hunted down the Rogue USS Endeavour-C, helping to prove
theyre
innocence in a plot to frame them for the murder of a federation
admiral. However, things were not as they
seemed, and
the retirement of the Task Force CO, initiated re-organisational
changes which
meant that the Saratoga was to be mothballed and the crew reassigned to
new
homes.
After a few months R&R Mitchell took and extended
Leave of Absence, from his command duties and visited his family on
earth. Although he enjoyed the slow, relaxed pace of life back on
Earth, he was soon itching to get back in the command chair. As
luck would have it, just days before he planned to request
reassignment by Bravo Fleet HQ, Mitchell was contacted by by Vice
Admiral Shepherd of Task Force 58. It seemed he had a ship, that
needed a Captain.......
SPECIALITIES:
Mitchell's main
talent lies in piloting, which was, of course, his career path.
Over his time in Bravofleet, he has learned
a lot of things, and, since the most recent part of Mitchells Career
has
followed the command path, he has become versed in alien cultures and
diplomatic rituals, certainly not to a high standard, but just enough
to get
by....
HOBBIES:
Mitchell likes
to keep fit and trains regularly in the Gym.
He frequently uses the various training programs in the holodeck, and
is
especially fond of is the archery program.
He is also
interested in old earth legends and mythology, and a few programs he
regularly
uses on the holdeck are: Robin Hood,
King Arthurs Camelot and the Three Muskateers. As well as that he has a
keen
interest in the movies and culture of the latter 20th century United
States of
America, and is known as something of a mean poker player…
When not
engaged
in any of these past-times Mitchell likes to spend time with his crew
and
friends, he doesn’t get much chance to do this, but he is a firm
believer that
the relationship between Crew and Commander is not just professional.
