Fiji
Fiji. Fiji was wet. We landed in the rainy season. So much for a relaxed approach to planning! We arrived in Nadi at 4:30 am Fiji Time, to a hot and extremely humid pre dawn light. A quartet of skirt adorned gentlemen serenaded us into the arrivals lounge where we got some cash, and on the recommendation of Miss Sheard, a large bottle of very reasonably priced Smirnoff.  Stepping out into the airport grounds was like a visit to a tropical bird house. Did I mention the heat? It was hot. At this point it was merely drizzling. We were quickly taken under the wing of a local travel agent who ran a business called Saks travel from the airport. There job was to help tired travellers map out there stay, separate them from their money and ensure that resorts ran by their friends and family got as much business as possible. We ended up with 3 nights on Nacula at Nevabravo and  2 further nights on Waya at Adis place, oh and some rather nice shell necklaces which we determined where to indicate our status to the agents shell adorned = Cash removed, steer clear, No shells = Bulging wallets, Turn up the charm. We did receive a very friendly welcome and, although we grumbled a little later, we pretty much got what we paid for; cheap as chips.
