SUPPLIES: Please bring the following supplies to class every day:

your textbook
#2 pencils; all homework is to be done in pencil
a spiral for writing DAILY class notes
any binder with a supply of white notebook paper to do assignments on
red checking pen
1 box of kleenex (would be greatly appreciated per semester)

CLASS RULES: We expect our students at South IHS to follow all school policies throughout the entire day. In addition, these are the expectations I have for my students when in my classroom:

be seated before the bell rings
have supplies ready, including your textbook and assignment
respect the rights and belongings of others

FOLLOW DIRECTIONS PROMPTLY

CLASS NOTES: You are expected to take notes in your spiral. These will consist of definitions, properties, problem-solving steps, and examples. They should be helpful to you when doing homework or studying for quizzes/tests. If you are absent, you will need to borrow and copy a classmate’s notes for that day. Being absent is not an excuse for missing notes. You will be allowed to use your notes spiral during quizzes.

HOMEWORK: Homework should be expected daily because mathematics requires practice. If possible, time will be provided in class to begin your assignment. Always try all of the problems and follow the steps in your spiral class notes. Please do your assignments with a pencil, ink is for checking.

Your first and last name, class hour, and page number should be at the top right corner of each assignment. Follow directions given in class first and then the book instructions.

GRADING: 25% homework, 25% quizzes, 39% tests, 11% semester exam
