VAMPIRE COUNT CHARACTERS
-the deadliest in the game

VAMPIRE GENERAL
Here you have a choice between Vampire Lords and Vampire Counts. I always have Vampire Counts in armies of up to 1500pts, and always Vampire Lords when fielding a army of 2500+pts. Unfortunately, the most games I play are 2000pts, so I have a difficult choice. Personally I like to have my Vampire General as a fighter(let the Necromancers do the magic), so it's mostly usual for me to put up a Vampire Lord in 2000pts armies. Very many think Vampire Counts are very good for their point cost, sure goblins are also good for their point costs. As you  have heard of, the undead are a match for snotlings if their general is killed, so I like to have a more resilent general especialy so because I hurl him into melee at first chance. You must not forget that in addition to the stat bonus Vampire Lords also have +1 magic level, spell and item and also one more bloodline power and the ability to have lords only powers. When choosing a vampire family for my army I almost always take Von Carstein (I LOVE the Carstein Ring, but sometimes I try Necrarchs too since it allows me to field a Vampire Lord in smaller games(if I drop the Necromancer).

THE NECROMANCERS

One of the best spellcasters in the game, able to take Book of Nagash and become level 5, may freely pick spells from the best magic deck, may recast the most devastating spell in the game and so on. I always take a Necromancer Lord, 'cause I really like necromantic magic and they're so darn cheap now. Remember that the necromancers aren't immune to psychology, but if you put your necromancer(s) in a big skeleton unit it doesn't  matter 'cause enemies cant pursue through skeletons. The Necromancers are also lethal in hth, with the Drain Life spell you'll have almost unlimited wounds. While lethal in hth I didn't say they're good at fighting challenges, stick to rank and file troops or you'll be dead.

THE HEROES

Even when I field a Vampire Count as general I dont have any point left to spend on heroes, but having a Vampire Thrall in your units in stead of a champion might be worth considering.

BATTLE STANDARD

Also here you have a choice, but the Vampire Thrall is superior. Best Battle standard in the game if you ask me.
Ok. on the other side what the fuck does unbreakable Vampire Counts need re-rolls for failed breaktests for?
Anyway, it might just save your fleeing Necromancer or Ghoul, but the best thing is the additional combat result and the option for an extra magic banner. Give him the Banner of Sorcery and even if he dies at least the magic banner is used.

CHAMPIONS
Terror causing and cool-looking Grim Reapers are so good for their point cost that they're the only champions I field (except that skeleton champion with the Black gem of course). I really dont expect anybody to do something else either so I wont explain any further.
