~~ background bio ~~

A halfling of the best sort, rogue, Sigrin (nicknamed Sorin) went through the world with the dizzying awareness of her own excellence.

Although often mocked by jealous humans, halflings are stunning creatures with powers suitable to the greatest of thieves.  A smart halfling takes on the profession of rogue.  Becoming a rogue allows the halfling to develop skills in pick pocketing, near invisibility, and sneak attacking.  You might say the halfling rogue is the cat of the Anphilian armies.

After careful thought, Sorin decided it would be fruitful for her to join the Cleaven army.  Being a halfling of chaotic good, she was a bit leery of the jingoist zealots she knew she would find there, but this seemed like the best place for her to train for her chosen profession of rogue.  I will learn their secrets she thought as she signed up for duty.

Sorin joined the army, only to find a strong anti-halfling sentiment.  The militia members unfamiliar with halflings called her little one and little girl, oblivious to the fact that she could live to be 150 years and still take all their gold undiscovered.

In the time that has passed since the bio, I, Sigrin, have dropped out of the Anphilian armada.  I had gained all the skills from them that were worth the annoyance.
Check back because I will be updating soon!

It was especially sunny and humid today, and I went out strolling in the early evening.  I came upon a huge old tree, and being a curious halfling, I just had to explore!  Using stealthy skills I gained from my months training at Anphilia, I snuck silently up next to it.  Much to my surprise was greeted by a growling noise.  Yeah, yeah, I know, Im a little out of practice.

There, in a cavernous hole in the tree was huddled a speckled cat.  The cat appeared determined to hold her ground against the intruder, and um, that would be me.

Here, kitty kitty, I cooed softly.  My ability to charm animals must be a little more effective than my sneaking, because the cat relaxed a bit and stretched up toward me cautiously.

I kneeled down and talked to the cat.  I apologized for the intrusion into her home.  We became friends!  Yay!

One thing in life that I just love is killing goblins.  I dont go out of my way to kill them, but they always attack me, so I am forced to in order to protect myself.  Youd think theyd learn!  But theyre goblins, and apparently thats just what goblins do.  Theyd probably go out of their little goblin minds if they didnt have halflings and elves and humans to attack.  We used to be running scared of them but since then we have slowly learned the skills to cope with frequent goblin attacks.  And Im very glad about that.

Rogue Diaries, Adventure 1: The Fetus Goblin

I was walking along the street one day.  Where would rogues be without streets to walk on.  I walked by a building with the side door just wide open, so I looked in, of course.  I didnt see anything in particular, just some old paint cans stacked up in the corner, but there was the unbelievably strong stench of goblin.  I gasped, shocked that goblins existed in this new home of mine outside of the fields surrounding Anphilia.  But armed with my knowledge of goblins, their smells in particular unfortunately, I crept to the edge of the door and listened for any sound.  I heard the squirrel-like muttering of a couple of young goblins over to the right side of the room.

I could barely make out what they were saying, but it seemed to be something about babies.  They started to move in the direction away from me, through a door and into another room.  As soon as their backs were turned I darted to a reasonably concealed location just outside the door they had just gone through.  I peered through the crack at the hinges of the door.  There was something very strange in the room, something huge, and seemingly bloody.  It didnt appear human, maybe some sort of animal, an elephant comes to mind.
