Am 12. Mai 2004 fand der diesjährige International Day an der AUC statt. Im Rahmen meines Rotary-Stipendiums habe ich gemeinsam mit deutschsprachigen Freunden den Deutschland-Stand organisiert. Dank der zahlreichen Kuchenspenden u.a. der Deutschen Schule (DSB) und der Mitglieder des Rotary Clubs Cairo Rhein-Nile konnten wir deutsche kulinarische Genüsse verkaufen. Auch der deutsche Botschafter steuerte einen Kuchen bei, wobei die Botschaft insgesamt freundlicherweise mit Informationsmaterial und einem Attaché aufwartete. Außerdem konnten wir so die Rückwand mit einer Fahne und einer Landkarte schmücken. Der Stand erlebte einen wahren Ansturm und wurde ein Erfolg!
On May 12, 2004 this year's AUC International Day took place. As part of my Rotary scholarship and together with my German speaking friends I organized the German booth. Thanks to numerous cake donations among others by the German school (DSB) and by the members of the Rotary Club Cairo Rhein-Nile we were able to sell German products. Also the German ambassador contributed a cake as much as the embassy on the whole provided us with information brochures and sent an attaché. Moreover, we were thus able to decorate the back wall with a flag and a map. Visitors swarmed the booth which was a great success!
