Beyond Training



So, The goat has been all trained. Now what?

Well, for starters, there's always parades. You can have your beautiful goat pull your beautiful cart and people will be very impressed. They will think it is a novelty that a goat can pull a cart. You may be able to convince them to get a harness goat of their own or at least get them to let you come give rides at their child's birthday party (see below)

You can also show your goat in 4-H and at the fair.

Make a little money. Charge 50 or 75 dollars to take your goat to a child's birthday party and give rides. Let me tell you from personal experiance, The kids love it. It's such a new and exciting thing for them.

Need to haul something heavy? Not a problem. You have a harness goat who can pull a lot of weight. If you're cleaning out your goat pen, have your harness goat haul the manure to the manure pile. They will make it a lot easier and in a lot fewer trips. Or you can go to Hoegger Goat Supply and purchase a Goat Powered Garden Cultivator Then your goat can help in the garden.

You know, you did all this work with the goat, so why not enjoy it! Hitch it up and drive around the farm for fun. It is a satisfying feeling to see how your hard work has paid off. For even more fun, Drive your goat near the road (if you live on a busy road) or take it into town and drive it in a parking lot next to a busy road. Not only is this good practice for the goat to get used to noisy vehicles, but you get some really odd looks and it's fun to see people trying to figure out what you're doing.
