Requirements for membership:
- At least 9 hours of English credit above the 100 level
- 3.0 cumulative GPA
- 3.2 GPA in all English courses
- payment of induction fees
First year students who do not meet membership requirements are welcome to attend meetings and activities. Get to know our members so that you will be right at home once you are eligible to join!

* New Journalism majors are encouraged to join the Society of Professional Journalists. Journalism is no longer part of the English department or an area of study in the English major.
