It was known simply as the facility. Hidden deep inside a mountain, the complex was of the highest levels of secrecy. Tunnels and rooms filled every conceivable space. Deep within the concrete walls, the untapped power of humanity’s true psychic powers was studied and harnessed. The complex was split into three identical areas, psychic espionage, psychic warfare, and enhanced psychic abilities. Each of the three areas held approximately forty people. In addition to the subjects undergoing enhancement, the number of researchers numbered in excess of one hundred, with half as many security personnel on duty at any one time. The overriding objective was to create a psychic corp. For the armed forces, to assist in modern combat, where the enemy is not always right in front of you.

The psychic espionage complex was used to awaken the long dormant abilities of remote viewing and future viewing. It was agreed that both of these talents should be instilled within all of the subjects, so as to have effective and reliable source of intelligence at the headquarters, whether it is in the field or within the country, without the need to risk trained espionage agents. . The usual occupancy within this complex was forty-two subjects.

In the northern section of the complex was the psychic warfare program. This program was more physical and rigorous. The subjects involved in this program were intended to be frontline combat troops, as well as intended to go on deep insertion missions, where they would be heavily outnumbered and expected to accomplish the mission before expiring. These subjects were trained in the usage of weapons, as well as telekinesis. The harsh training accommodated only thirty-five people.

Below these two complexes was the top-secret complex known solely as advanced abilities. Within this complex, skills were refined and passed on with new skills being learnt. The subjects within this complex were allowed to specialize in various areas, including pyrokinesis, mind control and advanced telekinesis. Forty-one subjects were kept within this complex at any one time.

As with any program, there were some subjects who excelled at the challenges put in front of them, and those who fell by the wayside and faltered. Those who faltered repeatedly were treated in one of two ways. Either the subject was forcibly upgraded through technology recovered from crashed alien spacecraft, or the subject was terminated.

Unfortunately, the results that were being produced at the facility were far below expectations. Almost ninety percent of all of the subjects were’ enhanced’. This came at a considerable cost in terms of both dollars and human suffering. It was only a matter of time before the government caught wind of the experiments that were being carried out and moved to put a permanent halt to the unethical experiments that were taking place inside that mountain. In a move surrounded by secrecy, a small band of a dozen soldiers were sent to the location with the intent of terminating all personnel. The day for the strike was black and stormy, and the military strike force forced their way into the complex. Room by room, corridor by corridor they slaughtered men and women who got in their way. Bullets echoed down the corridors, shadowed by black smoke from the grenades used by the attackers. It wasn’t long before some of the subjects began to fight back, resulting in the death of half of the soldiers.

However not all of the subjects fought back. A small group of five was able to escape the deadly trap and fled the mountain. As they fled, one perished in a fall whilst the rest of the group continued to run. This is their story...
