This page is to help make you familiar with the greek terms used by fraternities and sororities.  Below are the greek alphabet and common words that are used by all greeks.  This should help answer questions that are usually asked by non-greeks.

Greek Terms:
Fraternity: An organization for men based on mutual interest, friendship, and assistance.
Rush: The activity by which fraternities and their potential members get aquainted.
Bid:
An invitation from the fraternity to a perspective member invititing them to take on the New Member Education Process and become a brother.
New Member:
A probationary member of a fraternity, striving to become an active member.
New Member Educator:
A member of the fraternity that is in charge of educating and informing the new members.
New Member Education Process:
A process set up by the fraternity for new members so they can become familiar with the fraternity and its members.
Brother:
A term used by active members of a fraternity when referring to each other.
Big Brother: A Big Brother helps guide his Little Brother through through his college experiences and through his life experiences alike.
