Changes Part 9 Changes Part 9 (5 Months Later)

Carter and Lucy have moved in together now. Well technecialy Lucy just stayed and never went back to her place and moved the rest of her things to his place.
It was a sweltering hot day and Lucy had just returned home from work. She was taking less shifts now and going easy. She wasn’t really hungry for any dinner but then she thought about Carter, who had been working on a 24 hour shift almost, he’d probably be hungry. So she started cooking something and when she was nearly done, she heard the front door slam. She knew it was probably Carter so she continued finishing up dinner. When she went into the family room he was sitting on the sofa with his head in his hands.

“Dinner’s almost ready”
“I don’t want anything”
“What?”
“I said I don’t feel like eating”
“And here, I’ve been cooking for the past hour in the sweltering heat,barefoot, and now you don’t want anything?”
“I never asked you to cook in the first place”
“Fine then,” Lucy stormed off into the bedroom.
“Shit,” thought Carter, “I shouldn’t be taking out my anger on her,” he goes after her.
“Luce, could you please open the door?”
“No”
“I’m really sorry”
“Fine,” he heard sniffling at the other end of the door. “Damn these stupid hormones,” Lucy thought. “What do u want?”
“I’m really sorry for taking out my anger on u”
“Hmm”
“I had a real tough day at work today...almost killed a person...Kerry gave me hell for it”
“Is the patient okay now?”
“He’s doing good. So do you forgive me now?”
“Yes, I can’t stay mad at you for too long anymore,” smiled Lucy.
“I’m just too charming,” he went over to hug Lucy.
“Yeah, whatever”
“And about dinner, why don’t I take you out tonight?”
“Sounds great, haven’t done that in a while”
“There’s also something else we haven’t done in awhile....”
“John, you’re not get any”
“We’ll see about that,” and he starts to kiss Lucy.

(1 hour later)

Lucy and Carter are all ready to go now. Carter is dressed in khakis and a blue shirt. Lucy is wearing a pale pink tube top dress with matching flipflops and a cream colured purse, in which she is complaining she looks too fat.
“You don’t look fat, you look pregnent”
“I feel huge”
“Well, I guess thats normal..., but you look great”
“Thanks, you look good too, now lets go, I’m getting hungry now”
Lucy and Carter went to a beach side restaurant and had a romantic dinner.
Afterwards they went walking along the beach.
“Everything looks so perfect,” Lucy says
“Yup”

*This would be the perfect time for him to propose* thought Lucy. But of course Carter never did ask the question. Well there was this one time she thought he would. They were walking along when he asked her to stop, then he bent down... but only to pick up a really “cool” looking seashell. Lucy just rolled her eyes.
